You can also be one of the unlucky people who get a LuK clutch in their 4-cyl.
    They last 15,000 km.
When they are just about broken in, the pressure plate just isn't strong enough to prevent them from slipping.

Its funny when you get a clutch replaced under warranty/TSB and the mechanic says it looks brand new.

Ha, more like dumping it off the line. Will admit trying a rolling 2nd tire smoke is murder on a clutch. You don't realize how much hydraulic engagement saves the disc. I was making money in H.S. changing transmissions and clutches for others. When people say 'Muncie Rock Crushers were bulletproof" or "Turbo 400's were bulletproof" they weren't.

Meh, they might have been bulletproof, but I'm not sure why anybody would be shooting bullets at them ;)

And you're sure you didn't get a LEGIT rat's nest?
The only time I've ever seen anything that looked like a rat's nest inside a bell housing, it was due to an ACTUAL RAT moving in. Cleaned it all out, plugged the hole the rat was using to get in, and bolted the transmission back onto the engine. That vehicle (YJ for plowing snow) still has that same clutch in it.
