I'll cross 200k any day now and my only concern is when I'll have to finally replace the original clutch :fingerscrossed:

My 2013 just clicked over 500K KM = 311K miles. Last spark plug change I did a compression test on all 6 cylinders. All were 195 +/- with all the plugs out, FWIW. Burns minimal oil.
ETA: zero rust, and that's here in northern Canada where the roads are heavily salted 6+ months of the year. And -40 is common.

My 1st gen has been well cared for by myself and the previous owner. Just passed 350K miles last summer. California rig with minimal rust.

I'm at almost 240,000 on my 07. I fully expect 400,000 before major repairs are needed.

Last May I bought a similar truck, a black 2007 SR5 2.7L 5 speed manual with about 146k. I expected and had repairs done already, air conditioning work, new tires, brakes, exhaust, U-joint and sway bars. I wasn't concerned about the mileage when purchased after researching owner reviews and reading owner experiences on this forum.

Wow! If I did get a car, it would likely be that gen Camry, or even the previous gen going to '06. Aside from reliability, I've heard they ride well and pretty fuel efficient.

I purchased a 2008 DCSB 4x4 OR with 99k miles, and I'm now up to 185k. I have zero concerns on a daily basis. I plan on it lasting as long I want it to, and maintain it as such. I've read stories of these going well over 500k (with maintenance, of course).

Keeping a vehicle going takes maintenance, as you know. If you do the maintenance, it keeps driving. I guess its just a matter of perspective and expectations in that regard. I expect things to break over time, and I spend the money to fix them when they do. I couldn't tell you all the things I've fixed over the years, but to name a few in the last 90k...

    spark plugs (1x)
    air filters (as req'd)
    oil changes (on time)
transmission fluid flush / change (1x)
differential fluid flush / change (1x)
headlight and blinker bulbs (as req'd)
clock spring in steering wheel (1x)
    blower fan motor resistor (1x)
suspension upgrade (my choice, not a maintenance item)
    cleaned throttle body (1x)
    carrier bearing and u-joints (1x)
passenger rear power window motor replaced (1x)

Perhaps some people think that is a lot of money to spend on a truck with nearly 200k miles. On the contrary, its far less than buying a new vehicle, and the truck has barely lost value in the time I've had it (almost 10 years). Some people are ok taking on a $800/mo car payment to avoid the $800/yr maintenance costs, but I'm not one of them. I'll gladly pay a few thousand to keep this running to avoid the few tens of thousands it would take to get something new.

Absolutely - money well spent. Some of these new vehicle payments I've heard of are huge. Also in my town taxes are something to consider. I wouldn't apply this policy to just any vehicle though.

Take care of it and it will take care of you. That said, anything can happen. My ‘09 has 270k. Just do regular maintenance and replace normal wear items.

Forever if you’re the original owner and took care of it. Day-by-day if you’re a 2nd owner since you don’t know how it was previously taken care of.
