    Hello,

Since I mostly use my Tacoma for towing the Boat or Pop-up, and since I have a steel bumper, Topper, Mat. I decided to add the Torche Add a Leaf to the vehicle to level out the rear when loaded. Problem is they said it only adds 1.5-2 inches. Right now it’s more like 3.5-4!!! While I find it exciting to be staring at the road in front of me, it’s probably a safety issue. Will these eventually settle a bit? Should I drive over some speed bumps or load up the bed with everything to help them settle?

Also, I would like to get some bed drawers, do any of them work with the Bed Supports?

Have you towed or put a large amount of weight in the bed since the installation?

Maybe pull the overload leaf from the leaf pack....
Are you having vibration issues with that amount of rake?

Bed supports? I think most of the manufacturers of bed drawers did not account for the bed stiffeners some use when having a shell or bed rack and tent.
Some custom/DIY builds do adjust for the bed stiffeners.

Overload leaf? The one I installed?

THere were a little vibrations but I spaced out the drive shaft bearing support with some spacers a little bit and they went away. Obviously, it it stays this large I think the diff will need to be shimmed (I hope it settles.). But adding three spaces and a larger bolts to each side of the drive shaft bearing support seems to eliminate it.

I have not towed or put anything large in it yet. I can try that tonight. I can toss, a generator, gas cans etc in the bed and go for a drive to see if it will settle.

That’s a surprising amount of lift. Wow.

Cant speak to your brand, but the Deavers I installed settled very little, if at all, after lots of hauling and off-roading.

    Good luck.

I also do need to order longer U-bolts, I have the originals on now (will replace before any trip.). Is there a style people here like to recommend?

Did the add a leaf have the same arch as your originals ? If it was arched quite heavy - A spring shop can de-arch it to match the others in the pack. Normally they don't settle that fast. Regards Scott

    :-(

Maybe I should add weight. How do I mount an AX, Shovel, and crow bar in my bed :p

Original springs barely had any bend in them. I didn’t bother using a clamp when removing the bolt.

The Add a Leaf had a bit of a bend.

As long as the add a leaf is the same thickness as the others - it is always a good idea to match the arch, but not critical. In your case - that might be what is needed. I am assuming that you just added a single leaf to the existing pack ? if all else fails - you can remove the bottom leaf above the thicker plate leaf. That plate leaf will house the pack adequately with the factory clips that are there. You will be able to use your existing u-bolts. I rebuilt smaller truck springs for about 20 years as part of my shop services. the C-clamp from an OTC ball joint press is the ticket for installing the center bolt proper. It really snugs them tight. if the c-bolt isn't good and snug - the u-bolts will give it play when they get tightened. Regards Scott

Not sure why he got 3.5” inches of lift. Curious to see a pic

Those are some thick leafs in the truck. I could definitely see the three inches if the new piece had a heavy arch to it plus the little bit of extra thickness. Might be hard to see in a pic with the package cinched together. I remember doing a fleet of handicap busses that had handicap lifts on the passenger side. I just put one leaf on that side and it leveled them right out. The lifts were quite heavy for sure. The OP's truck has no real weight in the back that I can think of. Regards Scott

    It’s settled a bit.

please note the topper is a loaner from the dealer till my white one comes in. I am aware the brush guard is hideous and shiny, the stainless was cheaper and I have not painted it yet. I have not installed the bumper yet. 3A0DB7D7-0E81-49EA-B24B-91B1510BA135.jpg

lools like it’s 2 inches now. Confused as to how before it was sitting rear low with nothing in it and pointing at the stars and now it’s pointing down.

Looks good IMO. It will likely settle more as time goes on. Rake is good when using it like a truck.

The previous owner had a two inch lift in the front that I removed. I was blinding low flying aircraft.

It was one of those crappy Amazon shock spacers.
