Funny, I'm 47 and finally have the house/property to have a dream shop but no longer have the burning desire to have it. Cars and toys are lower on my desire list and people/travel/experiences seem more appealing. The more stuff you have the more it owns you. Plus, as sweet as old cars/trucks seem, well, they drive like old cars/trucks. For me it's hard to justify the space and cost for toys I'm really not going to drive much.

Here was a picture of my 2001 that I had given to my son and he then totaled it out. He walked away without a scratch. He rolled it three times going to work one morning after failing asleep at the wheel. He is lucky he is a live today and he knows it. It had 300,000 miles on it and had never let me down. We had totally upgraded the suspension and redone the leather interior and it looked as good as it ever had.

there was a time there after the 08 recession that everyone got this idea. everyone was looking for 1-2 year old cars and it actually drove the used car prices up to the point where if you were looking younger than 3 years you might as well buy new. this trend has probably leveled out as the economy improved.

Mine is 10 yrs old this week with 268,000 miles, if memory serves it has the same amount of miles as my Dodge and Ford combined. I'm keeping it till I die or it dies.

A lot of people on here are to lazy to change their own oil. I’d love to see them pull enough maintenance to keep something going 500k. If you can make money sell them trucks.

I am 66 years old, and just bought a '14 model taco last month, has 65000 miles, and my buddy who sold it to me, said I probably won't need another truck.

I'm 19 and bought mine with 147k miles on it, and plan to give it to my son. Not even dating anyone right now so that should give an idea on how long I expect this sucker to last.

Manual trans locks windows no cruise or int wipers.
I freaking love it no payments and has value. I was die hard gm. American made but my Tacoma I will shed a tear when the frame gives out.

Or 2020 pending the class action suit!

20161011_122320.jpg 20161011_120004.jpg I got mine Nov 24 14 with 132k on the clock. It now sits at 178k and runs great. Its an AZ truck so no rust problems. It was rear ended by a 2015 Camry a year ago Wednesday. Totaled the car and scuffed my bumper. I'm keeping it to give to one of my kids. I'll be looking for a 4x4 Taco next but until then it mine.

For me, I’ll keep mine until I die or it dies, or rust kills it WELL beyond “safe” driving. For one, I’m too cheap to waste money on another with a payment, and for my second point, I would miss the reliability factor...knowing it will start up every time and get me where I need to go. Not to mention I also do all my own maintenance and keep records of everything...I would hate to restart the whole process again, buying something and worrying what the previous owner was too lazy to change. If I ever feel the need to make it “better,” I’ll still save money in the long run, just making this one how I want it.

You should add, "I don't know and neither does anyone else" to the poll.

Bc nobody really knows for sure how long they'll have their truck.
