See someone knows what I'm saying...

I'd like to see some of you cold weather Kings make it out here in July...LOL I bet you blood would start to boil

That's why i'm kind of scared to go snow wheeling...I'm not sure I could get in the truck with all the jackets and pants I would have on. Then God forbid I get stuck overnight Yikes!

Growing up in SoCal, I remember the first day I ever experienced 39 degrees F. It scarred me for life. I still have nightmares.

This thread is getting a little off topic...

-52*C (-62 *F) is the coldest I ever experienced - we were doing a field job and around a dozen coworkers were residing in the same Motel. Thankfully the boss canceled work for the day and we all got drunk instead.:woot:

Wasn't too cold to go to the Liquor store though now that I think about it...:D

*Not really relevant as I didn't have the Tacoma then but it did bring back fond memories.:rasta:

I noticed that mine bottomed out this week at -30 as well. The actual temps were between -37 and -40. Like one of the posters said, at those temps it doesn't really matter. When you hop in and you feel like you are sitting on a wooden bench, it's all the same . . . LOL :D

For those in the -30 to -40 *C range, how does the Tacoma V6 handle the cold? How long do you let the truck warm before driving?

It handles it just fine in my experience. Obviously things are still tight at those temps and it takes a while for the steering and everything to loosen up, but that's no different than any vehicle I've ever owned and those temps.

I'll usually only let it run for maybe a minute or so and then just go. I don't let it idle away for 10+ minutes waiting for the cabin to warm up. To me, it's just a waste of gas. I usually find that at those temps and after being plugged in, the temp guage will start to move very shortly after first taking off and within maybe 5 minutes or so, it's within the normal operating range and blowing hot air. Of course, I DO wear gloves, my winter jacket and sometimes a toque when I venture out!

When it's that cold, as with all vehicles, I just take things very slowly. Very easy on the gas, no hard braking, etc. The whole vehicle eventually "warms up" and driving is no problem. To top it off, I was even happy to get a little over 13 MPG at those temps. I know it sounds nuts to be happy about 13 MPG, but at those temps in a truck, anything in double digits is good :)

    X2^

At -27F my clutched stayed depressed for a few seconds, but it started right up to my amazement. I don't have any heaters installed yet for oil etc. so I was pretty impressed. I am having trouble with my defroster working tho, but that is a separate issue.

I have heated seats (canadian version) and remote starter so it's pretty nice once I get in:)

I never plugged the truck and it still started no problem after a day and a half at -40+ (it got down to -46 during the night)... but my truck (and battery) are only 10k km old.

    I tied you.

-27* F is the lowest I have seen mine display...I was ice fishing up around 8000 ft in the middle of January at 5 AM...
