I have 255/85R16 KM3s on stock TRDOR rims. How low a PSI are you daring to go? These are E rated 10 ply.

    Thanks

I have taken mine down to 15 psi and they stay on the rim. I do get side wall damage and the rims take a beating easily. I’m going a tad wider and taller my next go around. Maybe a 285/75R17 (not 16 or 70)I have KM2s. I have three side wall slashes that are not that deep but look ugly. I don’t know if the side wall damage I have is related to the low pressures.

I used to run my pizza cutters at 15-18psi on stock TRD Pro wheels. No issues.

I regularly run my e rated 255/85r16 STmaxx at 14 psi for technical trails, even driven on the highway from one trailhead to the other at 14psi. No issues, other than it feels like your steering a boat on turns at speed.

For lighter load tires I wouldn't risk that

I’ve gone as low as 8 when I was a little sauced while airing down for the next day. I usually do 10-15 and have not had any issues. Just went through poison spider and fins and things out in Moab. Never popped a bead. I do have a matching spare so I’m not scared to push it with low psi

Once upon a time I had some falken tires. I wanted bigger tires so I bought new tires with only maybe 10k on the falken at3ws. I was planning on selling those tires. When it came time to install the new tires the falkens came off horrible. The beads had adhered strongly to the rim. 3 of the 4 had unsafe beads after removal and one of the 4 had a chunk taken right out of the rubber from a large pry bar that was used to separate tire and rim. I think it was because I drove 20 some odd miles with them at 12 PSI on the highway going 50-60mph. I know it was dumb but the weather sucked and the kids where wining etc so I figured I would just drive to the gas station in Hanksville Utah and air up there while the kids ate. Lesson learned and bought a much better way to fill tires faster.

Coopers or do you have it in the bed?

On my old party I used to air down my 33x10.5 c rated bfg at’s to 15.
The staun deflators are nice.....and a scuba tank even better!

    Thanks for all the replies!

Hitting some technical stuff this weekend. Will start at 15 if need be and go down from there. I have a Viair, a matching spare and road hazard warranty.

I have 255/80R17 KM2's on 4runner pro wheels. I've been down to 10psi in the sand no problems.

I've done 4-5psi on hankook dynapros at 265/70/16 16x 7 in rim. I didn't have any issues but I only did that because it was super soft fluffy sand. No issue on soft sand. Law of diminishing returns definitely applies below 10 psi. I like running the smallest and thinest rim possible to avoid those troubles. For normal driving offroad when I had a 4x4 I would run 15pai and it was awesome.

    That fit under the bed?

The coopers fit pretty well, without relocating the hoist.
