Seems to be a common problem. The cross is not drilled on one side, as to never see grease

I would have taken pics, but it was dark in the barn. The one cap was dry and broken

Prerunners probably will have the most early failures; per the owners manual there are no fittings on my 2wd drive shaft.
Therefore, the only grease they will every get is what was in each bearing cup upon assembly. No zerk on the carrier bearing either.
I'll never understand this especially with OR type vehicles, and it is likely a reason that 2wd drive shafts have a tsb for replacement for bump-from-behind after stop issues. TSB replaces the entire shaft which is probably too much play from worn out bearings.
    Go figure.
But probably on other modelss too; just 2wd gets the TSB.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I ran up 175K on the original U joints on my 2006 with no issue. I towed a 16" boat, a heavy pontoon, a car trailer with a frame and engine, firewood, mulch, you name it and they never let me down :)
