I fired one when I was a manager. He walked off the job cussing in front of customers and stuff so I had to cut him loose. Not the first issue with him. Just another day to me.

I have fired 3 so far. One because he kept showing up whenever he wanted, and his comebacks were at almost 25%. Another was let go because he was caught drag racing a customer's car....and he was caught BY THE CUSTOMER who was two cars behind him at the light in a loaner. He had no idea that his job was gone before he even pulled back into the shop. And the final one was let go because he just didn't give a flying f*ck and was causing friction with the other techs and the cashier girl. Don't regret a single one.

I fired a old retired part time guy cause he was too damn slow physically and mentally, non productive and he thought he knew it all but he didnt know how to write a simple email. Damn I hated that guy!!! Funny thing is he trained me!!!!

I fired another guy cause he kept calling out or being late. I wish I could have slapped him. Hate when people call out or late and I have to pick up the slack!!

I've fired 5 or 6 I believe. It's tough at my place of work because they are backed by the CWA union. I understand why they are there but 90% of the time they are keeping terrible employees at work when they should just let us fire them. I only feel bad about 1 because he tried really hard but just couldn't sell.

I in a way fired a guy... When I worked for a local police department we had people who would work off their prison sentencing every morning at 6AM-11AM. They would have to report to me for instruction (wash police cars, Pick up trash around the car lot/department, empty trash cans etc...). I had a guy who showed up twice when he was listed to work for the entire week. I reported back to the court that he missed the day, They called his listed numbers and he never answered. They gave him afew more days until action would be taken and he showed up on the last day... I sent him home and a warrant was issued for his arrest, Or so I've been told.

I felt bad to an extent, Because the guy was relatively polite and he was young (19 I think)...

I don't technically directly fire people because our HR department does the firing. However, I have "fired" many people due my investigations into their misconduct (theft, comission fraud, Identity theft, leaking confidention information, etc.). Usually when me or my colleagues sit down to talk to you, you usually won't have a job at the end of our conversation. The only time it's good to see us is when we're doing some sort of training.

Outright terminated one, gave one the option of resigning and layed off too many to count. Only one that did not bother me was the termination (workplace violence).

I've been fired (twice), layed off (twice) and resigned myself (too many times to count).

    Three

One for stealing, that was easy.

Two were guys I really liked but had to let go due to economy issues in the lumber industry. That really tore me up.. Luckily I got to hire one back 9 months later.

    Three.

The first was the easiest because it was 100% his fault, and honestly, he worked for us 364 days longer than he should have, but after a year he felt he was untouchable and things got worse instead of better.

The other two were due to a product line being pulled resulting in a major downsizing. Cut my field service department by 33%... ya... I was the only one left (and I left 6 months later).

But all three, I was like Norm on Cheers where I felt so bad that I wanted to take them out for a beer to break the news.

I work with high school students and young adults in the aquatics industry (Lifeguards). As a supervisor and now area director, i've fired a total of eight (8) employees since 2009. Some of the reasons include: sexual harassment, no call-no show, drug use, cell phones on guard stand, not listening to managers and performing daily duties.

I'm glad i don't work for a company that requires me to go through Human Resources to have someone fired, but i do have paper work i fill out and either they had it coming (multiple warning) or were terminated then and there based on severity in industry (drugs, cell phones, etc. as listed in operations manual).
