i thought that was called a flooglebinder?

    EDIT: found my answer

The origin of the term "Flooglebinder" is the film Cocktail in which Tom Cruise is attempting to find a definitive word for the plastic coating at the end of a shoelace. The actual term for the plastic tip of a lace is an aglet.

It just wouldn't sound right if it were sang
"...But I would walk 500 kilometers
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand kilometers
To fall down at your door"
