You kids and your fancy divisibility by 10. When I was young, 10 hadn't even been invented! And fingers to count on were a luxury!

Winch, front hitch, step bars, bed extender, bed step, gull-wing toolbox, tailgate lock, security system, cb radio, etc.
Obviously it is. I mixed the two systems exactly because that (endless conversions) is precisely what will be required if the USA ever truly tries to switch to metric. Of course, the existing Imperial system used here is already well known in this country and works just fine (we've built skyscrapers, ships, jet fighters, and put men on the moon using it), so there's really no need whatsoever to switch.

You mixed the two systems like when NASA crashed that Mars lander for the same reasons

You're right , best leave things the way they are

That is a good point. When I saw stewartx's original post, I figured it was tounge in cheek. The US public in general is very familar with the english system, no matter how quirky, so no big need to change it. Those working in jobs using mostly metric know how to do that as well. Others working where they need to know the english system are trained on that. People who's work requires them to convert from one to another learn the factors they need the most, and have the others at their fingertips.
