    Nothing yet...that's why I'm here.
I'm amazed by how reliable the Tacoma is. I just bought a 2004 TRD/SR5 DC 2wd and love it! It has 99,650 on it and the damn thing runs like it just pulled off the dealership lot. It's my first Toyota by the way and I hope it lasts me at least 300k. One thing I've noticed in most threads I've encountered like this one was that nobody seems to mention replacing the timing belt (suggest at 90k). Mine has yet to be done and I'm wondering if I should have it done now or see how far I can go before it needs replacement. Can I cause harm to the truck if I wait it out? I know what a bad timing belt feels like so if I do feel it I will take it in immediately.

you dont want to risk it. Its better to replace it before it breaks. If it breaks it can cause damage to other parts. Its best to replace it because it can cost a lot more after it breaks.

As far as I know, the timing belt won't give warning, it will just snap one day and you're stuck. I don't know much about the 6 cylinder engine but some types of engines will be destroyed by valve to cylinder contact if the timing belt breaks.

I hope this helps to clear up the timing belt discussion. The timing belt will break if not replaced. You can't tell that its about to break without doing a visual inspection. The belt will usually shows signs of cracking but not always. Sometimes it just breaks. Its preferred to replace it with an OEM belt because it has marks for both cams and the crank. As for damage to the engine, timing belt breakage will not damage it as it is a non-interference engine. That means the valves will not come in contact with the pistons. If it is a 4 cylinder then it has a timing chain not a belt. Again I hope this helps.

I did mine myself and it's very time consuming. However, not too difficult. I replaced my belt, water pump, camshaft seals, and crank seal and flushed and put new coolant in it. I did mine around 96k. There's plenty of DIY threads if you're interested, but to settle it, the 5VZ-FE (3.4L) is a non-interference motor which means if the belt were to pop, then the truck would just shut down and wouldn't start back up until you've replaced it. Hope this helps. :D

210k. Only part that has failed and had to be replaced was the starter, twice. Other than routine maint, (plugs, wires, oil, ect) nothing else has failed. Being a California truck helps a little I'm sure!

My '07 has 43K and the only thing I've replaced is the battery...along with wiper blades, tires and all the fluids and filters during routing maintenance.

My '12 has 3,850 miles and haven't replaced anything, yet, and hopefully won't have to for a long, long time.

206534 on my 03' DoubleTaco TRD. Only thing other than brakes and exhaust is that I busted off something on my flywheel (from hauling too much).
This is a typical load - scrap steel going to the recyler:
