2002 doublecab. I bought the truck with 140k and now it has 210k. Ive changed the brake pads once and the oil 5 or 6 times. Oh and the tires. That's it.

11 years and 91,000 miles now and only replaced one o2 sensor a few months ago. Nothing else ever broke or leaked.
(Other than than just the usual tires, brakepads, wiper blades and oil.)

    Tacoma FTW!

Keep an eye on those ball joints. You don't wanna have one come apart doing 70 mph like me. I think it was around 250k miles

Bought my 99 tacoma used,it had 108,000 miles on it. Almost 10 years later with 198,000 miles, ive only had to do maintenance plugs/wires,oil,etc.even the tires lasted 7 years, brakes rotors are good but I'm replacing them while I have it on stands. All those years are catching up,last few months I've noticed new issues. Front wheel bearing, shocks, power steering pump, I'll do the brakes while Im
    At it.

195k your regular scheduled maintenance (including timing belt/water pump), full OME suspension (billies and OEM leaf springs were completely dead), and rebuilt the transmission including replacing O/D.

I thought on Tacomaworld you were required to replace the factory shocks with 5100s on the way home from the dealer!

My 2012 has about 22K and no mechanical issues requiring part replacement. I have swapped out a few parts because I wanted to.

Also switched the factory oil at 150 miles to Mobil 1 full synthetic and changed it every 5000 since.

I have a confession, you know those morons who miss treat their cars by not changing the oil, or other important basic care. I was one of those morons and I am now reformed of my ways. This being confessed, the vehicle I miss treated was a 99 Tacoma, and as bad as I treated my pickup, she only went to the shop twice. 201,998 miles and treated very badly, she never let me down ever.
Recently I was given a gift, a rare gift, the money to buy a new car. I didn't buy a new car, I overhauled my own. New windows, shocks, interior and because of how bad I treated her a new engine, all for far less then any used Tacoma I could have found. Part of me has to wonder how many more miles my engine would have lasted, she was running great when I took her to the shop.
If anyone wants to know how good a Tacoma is, I believe they are one of the best trucks made, because mine survived 15 years with the worst owner it could have had, me.

    185k miles.....bought in February 2004 with 35k on it

Oil changed every 5k miles, grease all fittings

    Plugs, filters, fluids

2 batteries, 1 starter, 1 set of serpentine belts, 2 sets of tires (replacing them again in about 3 months or so)

What I have found is "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

Fluids, filters and grease is the key!

Mine is a 04 with just about 55K miles.
    Replaced so far:
    -Battery (wear item, cannot complain)
    -Tires (again wear item)
-Front right linkage??? Not sure what its called but when my sister was driving the truck she managed to stick the front right tire in a big hole and the wheel had some play in it. This was a long time ago so not sure exactly what was replaced.
    -Bunch of fluids (wear item)

Other than human error and wear items nothing really broke to speak of. Although at my 60K service is going to be just about a grand at the dealer... yikes!

    Hmm...2006 4.0 with ~140k:
    Trans. pressure control solenoid
All axle seals (due to mud most likely)
    Alternator (mud)
    All idler pulleys (mud)
    Tensioner pulley (also mud)
Serpentine belt (you guessed it... mud)
Driver's side wheel bearing/hub (probably mud, too)
A few (~7 or 8) radio antennas (trees )
Suspension (It was a good time to lift :D)
    Tires
    Spark plugs
    Brakes
Windshield (Broken and replaced for free by Marietta Toyota)
Other than that, It's just been stuff I wanted to replace.

And I think I'll need a new CV here soon

And on that note, I'll never hit mud again...

    66k on my 2011.

Previous owner did maintenance by the book. Only thing out of the ordinary was a complaint about a noisy blower motor. It doesn't sound loud to me, but it doesn't say they replaced it.

I have done nothing but an oil change so far, and want to do spark plugs before winter.

In the process of replacing front suspension ( ball joints, coils, bushings, control arms if needed, shocks) also the rear suspension ( new leaf packs and shocks)
Had to troubleshoot a MAF sensor problem that was down in the wiring harness. General maintenance and tuneups. Now I'm looking at the IAC throwing a P0505 at me. Probably just replace instead of cleaning it again and check the wiring in the harness. It's been a great little truck.

My 5VZ-FE Hilux has 152,000 KM's on it now (just under 95,000 miles I think).
A week after I bought it from the original owner, who had hardly driven it for a year, the clutch slave cylinder gave up on me (internal leak from perished inner seals I think). So I replaced the master cylinder, slave cylinder and put in fresh fluid of course.

The left side outer CV boot had split due to the CV angle from the 2" lift, so I regreased the CV and replaced the inner and outer boots on that side (sucky, messy job, I'll just buy a reconditioned one next time, lol).

At 150,000 KM, it was due for a timing belt replacement so I replaced the timing belt, tensioner, idler pulleys and water pump (water pump had a slight leak but wasn't really losing any coolant strangely enough).

Aaaand that's it. Haven't found anything else wrong with my truck since.

I always figure if you stick to doing the services as per the log book these trucks will just last forever and a day :)

    James
