383,989. Stock 95.5 4x4, 3.4L automatic. Replaced: windshield washer jug and pump, timing belt/water pump x 3, starter, alternator, battery x 3, right side CV axle, ignition switch.

Currently needs: struts, shocks, rear leafs, O2 sensor(s), front brake rotors, and the radiator has a slow seeping leak. all of which I'll be taking care of soon.

Could really use: new seats. worn out, and GAWD they're uncomfortable! Recommendations?

I also have a 95 GMC Sierra 1500 2x4 with 314,000 miles on the original 5.7 liter. It's been a fantastic truck, as well.

Thanks for the links. I've been thinking about picking through the local bone yard soon....should give me a reference for makes and models that'll require the least modifications.

According to Toyota the previous owner took it in for every maintenance but at 50k miles I went through some really nasty water and the alternator got trash in it and went out along with the front crank seal. I replaced the alternator and brought it to Toyota for the crank seal. If I wouldn't have tried to go through water that was so deep and dirty I probably wouldn't have had any problems.

New frame, recall. Timing belt/water pump/idler pulley x2, drive shaft u-joints, center support bearing, normal wear items, brakes, spark plugs, etc. Currently rebuilding rear differential. Replacing rear axle bearings and seals, no leaks but the bearings were toast. During frame swap had the dealer install new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and actuator. I've also replaced the o2 sensor 2 twice, sensor 1 once. This is my second Tacoma, its starting to require more maintenance but its been like the other Toyota products I've owned, its been very reliable.
