I put in the new clutch return spring today. Took maybe a half hour total.

If any of you first gen guys with a manual transmission have a squeak whenever you're pressing in/letting out the pedal, there is a good chance this is the solution to it.

I just turned 227,000 miles today. The only replacement part I have purchased is a starter that was just bought last week. My tacoma has been completely dependable and one heck of a truck. I am proud to own it.

33,7xx - water pump leaking through the weep hole, took it to the dealership and luckily my warranty was still in affect for 2 more weeks! close call. had them replace all the belts while they were in there as well so i wouldnt have to pay for labor when it did need them.

    Small lift and a topper!
All of you who are like "15,000 miles and everything is fine" need to quit bragging. ;)

As far as I'm concerned, a car is "brand new" until 100k. Then its just "broken in" until 200k! I just sold my Mercedes 300TD diesel wagon the other day with 290k on it, and my Tacoma has just over 200k on it.

Glad to see so many are making it well into the 200,000 mile range. Lets see a few 300k units out there! That would be 21,000 mi/yr on a 95, which I'm sure some people with long commutes could have done.

I think..I WIN!!! (most mileage so far on a 1st Gen, that is) - 307830mi on a 1999 Auto Xtra Cab 4x4. Now the list:

Starter, front & rear shocks (at least twice), All fluids, of course tires, wipers and other normal "consumables". Wow, that's it! What a truck! It rides like crap right now due to bad alignment and need of tires and frt springs. Fixing this this month. BTW - when do folks change out the rear leaves? Can't find a mileage relation on this.
