The truck I just sold to my dad last week had 265k. And i only had to change a battery once. And the spark plugs and wires a number of times. And the ox2 sensors. It still has the original clutch in it. Best truck ive ever owned.

89k. Just replaced the 8 year old factory battery the other day  . . Going to be replacing stock shocls with the billies. I don't know of it's just me but the ride feels like its getting much stiffer and there seems to be a lot more squeaks coming from the undercarrage/suspension areas.

That's a true sign of a driver that knows how to handle a manual transmission consistently.

I put 103,000 miles on an '01 Honda GoldWing (purchased new) with the original clutch when it was traded off, and a 78 Ford Fairmont (MT) (purchased new) with 123,000 miles on the original clutch when I sold it.

The wife rides an '05 GoldWing Trike (purchased new), and presently has 94,000 miles with the original clutch.

Those things can happen regularly with good driving habits.

As for my little Taco, although it doesn't have high mileage (a little over 24,200), after 11 years I still really enjoy driving it when have a chance...!!!

    Had to replace:
    -harmonic balancer pully
-both front brake calipers (they were frozen)
    -Radiator (sprung a leak)
    -Upper ball joints
    -Cooling fan clutch

And that is about it besides normal maintenance stuff (plugs, wires, Airfilter, shocks, etc..)

It needs new rack boots and outer tie-rod ends...but Its not urgent yet.

2001 Tacoma, 136,000 miles, water pump only (didn't fail but dripped at 90,000 miles).

2005 Tacoma, 102,000 miles, 'spiral cable' aka 'Clock Spring' (caused air bag light to come on), rear leaf springs way too soft and bottomed out (didn't know of TSB, dealer didn't offer help, had to be supplemented with Ride Rite air springs /bags).

    2010 Tacoma, 31,000 miles... NOTHING. :)

Thanks! Yeah i feel as long as you dont ride the clutch or try to over due it. They will last for a long time. Time will tell on my new(to me) truck. 124k on the original clutch. Still feels good though.

I looked at a 99 TRD Extra today for sale locally with 190K. It was a totally abused 3.4 work truck, and it ran so good I almost bought it. Nothing had been touched mechanically, and no receipts whatsoever. Amazingly smooth motor, but expensive to rebuild. It could go another 5K or 50. I walked and i'm still thinking about it - cheep @ $5000.

189k miles and only the alternator.........but thats sense i've had it. when i got it from the bastard that use to have it, i could tell my trokita was crying, and needed major TLC. knock sensor needed to be replaced, ball joints were worn, tie rods and bellows were torn, rear shox were busted, needed new spark plugs, and the rear axle shaft was bend, and it needed new shoes. all that has been fixed and is running happy and healthy. :D

Got a bout 160K on it now, changed motor about 10K ago, to a LS1 fire spitting V8, other than that my original 2RZ never had anything go bad on it in 150K miles, not one single thing! Until my turbo went bad and junked the motor....:mad:

Thats OK the V8 more than suffices...:D
I still start the truck and see people looking around and over my truck to see who's vehicle sounds like a built Camaro, lol, yeah its coming from that stock looking 2wd little Tacoma...sleeper.

I sold my 98 back in 07 with 150,000 miles on it. The ONLY things I did was sceduled maintenance, oil changes and new tires. It still had the original brakes and clutch. I used it for carpentry (towed a 3000lb tool trailer) and did quite a bit of two tracks in the mountains and Death Valley region. The lady I sold it to has 220,000 miles on it and has replaced the starter, alternator, clutch and brakes.
Now I have an 08 and have only 25,000 miles on it. I mostly drive my 85 pick up for work. it has 310,000 miles on it

I've owned my '95 Extended SR5 4x4, 3.4l V6 for only a couple months, but it came with 250,000 miles. My shocks and exhaust are toast, so I'm currently acquiring Bilstein's 5100 front and rear, new springs, JBA headers and JBA exhaust, new Toyota backing plates for all corners, K&N CAI, and I might need new front rotors and pads. It's all going on this Thursday.

I have an Ultragauge, and I'm interested to see how these new parts will effect MPG, HP, MAF, etc. Before the upgrades get put in I'm going to do some tests runs and record some numbers from the Ultragauge and compare the stock numbers to the new parts, (headers, exhaust and CAI). Might be cool to actually see differences. Once it all gets bolted on I'll run the tests and post my findings. Does anyone want me to record specifics from the stock setup compared to the new? Let me know.
