How many miles before you had to replace rear brakes?

Just curious when your rear drums wore out and what all did you replace when you did them?

 

I’m at about 90,000 miles. Rears still going strong. Fronts replaced 2 or 3 times.

 

112,000 miles, rear drums are starting to run low, but still within serviceable limits. I’ve replaced the fronts twice.

 

If the rears are kept clean and adjusted they should last at least 2x the front. Which for me normally means 100k or better.

When they need replacement, I do all the internals, including the cylinders. The drums are totally dependent on their wear/grooving/lipping. Most times yes, but not always.

 

I’m at 101k and mine still look good

 

I did mine at 90K, they were still in decent shape,but had them done at the same time my fronts were being done the 2nd time. I'm at 192,000 and probably close again.

 

I agree, cylinders are cheap and avoid the eventual failures.
