Just bought this truck. It is bone stock, with 227,000 miles strong. Plan on getting 4Runner 16 inch wheels with 265/75/16 BFG M/T's.
I have a 97 Tacoma with the 2.7L backed by the 5 speed manual. She's got 227,000 and counting. Not a thing wrong with it.

I had a 1995 ext. cab 2.7 4x4 5 sp. and when i sold it in Sep. of last year, I was pushing 279k. Still ran great and sold it for more than what I gave! Had it for 71k and I think tires and alternator were the only maintenance issues I had to deal with. You can't beat these trucks.

2011, Purchased in January of 2011, so about 1 1/2 years old - 8,200 miles. I really need to apply for that "Low mileage" insurance discount offered in our state...

This is the reason I bought my Tacoma! My old 2001 Dakota would never come close to matching this kind of longevity. It was a poor excuse for a truck, IMO. The V-6 engine was strong, but far from trouble free (2 water pumps, belt tensioner, distributor rotor/cap issues, etc.). The vehicle had rust issues and never ending small problems that drove me crazy (ball joints = not so small). When I sold it, it was 10 years old, with 72,000 miles - and the Check Engine light was on (evap system trouble). I was happy to see it go, and I *ran* to my Toyota dealership!
