2017 Tacoma, turns 2 years old this Jan. Now has 3570 miles on it, and it is my only vehicle. Yeah, I am retired, and have few places to drive to, BUT, I spend heavily on maintenance (Red Line Oil, Lubegard Heavy Duty Engine Protectant and Platinum Auto Trans Auto Fluid Additive, Power Steering Protective Additive, Etc, Etc, Etc). My oil, although free from Toyota for the first two years, costs me about $68, plus the Purlolater Boss Oil Filter(s). Yeah, I plan to keep it longer than I live!

Next time you have the valve cover off, you may want to do the spark plug tube seal/gasket. Mine was crispy and falling apart after 240k miles.

You and I are on the same page. It seems that every manufacturer thinks we all want a living room with a 5' bed out back. I just bought, or should I say, got into debt for a new super duty. I still have my 2004 Taco.

Luckily, I bought one that has minimal electronic garbage on it even though it still has too much electronic/tracking junk for me. It seems that most people that buy a pickup these days want to have a living room with a bed behind it.

Toyota is screwing up big time. They should offer the Tacoma with a single cab with an 8' bed and stuff the V-6 in it or maybe a diesel. Not everyone needs a crew cab with a living room onboard. Many actually use their trucks for work.

93,500 miles on my 2012 SR5 2.7L 5-speed manual 4X4 I purchased new in November 2011. It's my daily driver in winter months. But spring, summer and fall I ride my 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited almost exclusively and truck mainly sits in garage which keeps the mileage low. Probably will keep this truck until wheels fall off since it's been an excellent vehicle!

2008 Access cab automatic. The Coolant bypass tube failed catastrophically on the freeway dumping the engine coolant in seconds, blew the head gasket. Replaced the head gasket and resurfaced the head but a year or so later engine started consuming about 1qt of oil every tank full of gas 190k I replaced the engine with a used one with 63k

Radiator cap failed on me about 50k miles ago, preventing the coolant system from maintaining pressure. It's possible I ran it for up to 30 minutes like this without noticing. I don't know if I did any damage but it's not using any coolant or oil 50k miles later. That and a U joint are the only problems I've had, I bought the truck at 130k.
