I have a 1997 Tacoma that has 188,300 on it and she still hamers down. I have had to preplace the O2 sensor because the coulpe that had it before me had it replaced and they siliconed around it and it got inside and was messing with the sensor. But other than that i have not had a problem with my truck.

Yes, it was fairly easy. I had to bend the metal up a bit to get the front longer bolts in the trans. I also had to drop the adapter in place first, then the shifter with the extention on it. Then I had to tilt the whole assembly up torwards the bent metal to sneak the bolts in. Other than that, it went very smoothly. This wasn't the first short shift kit I had installed. I installed a Hurst shifter in my 98 Supercharged 4.3l v6 2wd S10. Installation was very similar.
