    Mine went 146,000. The water pump usually starts leaking first. Mine was leaking bad.

    Very true, which is why it boggles my mind why some people replace the timing belt but leave the water pump because it wasn't leaking...yet.

    Yeah thats just stupid. It is such a pain getting all that stuff out of the way, might as well do the water pump and t stat as well.

    Just hope it doesn't take out the plastic cover with it. Or happen in an inner city lol.

    My 98 4Runner has had the belt changed out twice. Once at 90K and then again at 180K. The old belts still looked like they were in good condition with hardly a crack. The water pumps were starting to leak. The belts will outlast the pumps from my experiences.

    I'm at about 126,000 on mine.. Going to start getting all the parts together, so I don't get stranded somewhere like the lake where I have no cell service..
