Don't feel bad, I may go twice as far but it takes me longer to get there. :turtleride: It was a choice I made and don't regret but it did have consequences.

I switched the + and - wires to the fuel pump to invert the flow of fuel. It starts at E and as drive throughout the week the indicator gradually moves towards F. Once full, I siphen the tank and sell my excess fuel to my friends. Last I checked i get +23 miles per gallon, I sure wish I would have thought of this 20 years ago.

we have it here, but it doesn't do much to stop the idiots from scrolling their fav site, watching video or doing who knows what. we've had a rash of highway officers killed by idiots. they haven't given the reason, but i would be shocked if cell phones were part of the issue. i see it all day long with idiots slipping onto the shoulder while staring at their dummy box. i hate people

My first pickup was a Ford. The gas gauge worked fine from F to 1/2. Then the needle would stay at 1/2 until it ran out of gas, at which time it dropped to E (no warning light in those days).

The Taco gauge is relative but I also go by the trip mileage.

I was actually just about to post\search about this issue with my own tacoma. 2011 Offroad no mods, with shell. The fuel gauge is wildly inaccurate like most of yalls which seems normal. besides a dropping mpg over the last 3 months (19.7ish to 17.5ish), my other concern was gas light coming on and needle near E at 15.9 gallons used, which means that i should have a little more than 5 left, or about a quarter tank. Given the range of inaccuracies you all also have, maybe this isn't something to worry about as much then?

I did many tests of actually going to the gas station when the gauge reached certain points. Mine is a second gen, but the tanks are likely the same (21.1 gallons)? This is based on gallons not mileage because we can get different mileages on a gallon of gas. I get 15-16 with daily driving on the crap gas they sell in California.

The figures fluctuate with temperature as well as the exact point you stop filling up. So the modifier here is +/- 0.5 gallon.

FULL= 21 Gallons in the tank
    3/4 Line = 16 (down 5 gallons from full)
    1/2 Line = 12 (down 9)
    3/4 Line = 8 (down 13)
    Low Fuel Light = 5 (down 16)
    E Line = 3 (down 18)

So, for the OP: The first or top quarter tank holds 5 gallons. The next two, quarter tanks, hold 4 gallons each. The last quarter tank, to the E line holds 5 gallons. Then you have 3 gallons in reserve for the E-LINE to an empty tank.

    They must be stock?

But also, i have a bunch of weight. Full armor, bumpers, bed rack, tent, and 35s. My mileage might be thrown off because of the tires.

I rode with @bajafresh the other day and he got 100+ miles on 1/4 tank. He said he has OV Tune though.

I get about 80 miles a quarter and average about 17-18 mpg. Used to get about 100 miles a quarter before I added weight and bigger tires.

I have a cap, sliders, gas and rear diff skid, 265/75/16 tires, but no bumpers yet and I'm getting this terrible gas consumption, cant even imagine after bumpers what I'll get then.

Maybe a tune up is needed. Spark plugs, air filter, check tire pressure?

I have load E BFG KO2s have them at 50psi ( trying to get better mpg) I know they're heavier, air filter is ok, maybe my plugs, also when empty only able to fill about 13gallons, think I have a multifaceted problem
