My 2006 has 190,000 miles. I have the oil and filter changed religiously every 5,000 miles.

You should be more concerned about when rust will take your Tacoma off the road.

For most people, the answer is until your next truck purchase.

105,647.6 miles, at which time it will be totaled by a teenage girl named Sarah, talking to her friend Lisa on a cellphone, running a red light. Sorry.

you can treat it like its the most precious thing on earth. I did that with my accord and got rear ended, in one sec, my car got totaled. I treated my truck same and at 76k mile I needed major work like top end rebuild. defect, covered under extended warranty. now she drives better than ever. the point. you cannot predict tomorrow, only better your odds and even then... you can crap out

Longer than a 2nd gen but that’s a pretty low bar.

If you've ever been on any of the Bronco/Ranger/ZR-2 forums, you'll quickly figure out you have a lot better shot of a long lasting vehicle if you have a Tacoma.

My drive to work is 20 miles of mountain shelf road with a lot of up and down. I wonder everyday about what kind of toll those driving conditions are taking on my truck’s longevity.

Most miles in one year in a Tacoma...
    48K in 2018.
Thank goodness I don't drive that much now. That's over 80 days on the road.

Hate to burst your bubble. But your almighty 3rd gen has the exact same suspension as a second gen. Your third gen motor also has less torque and available power across certain power ranges. First gear for example in a g2 with the 4.0 has impressive torque. In the g3 with the 3.5 first is an absolute joke.

I'd tow with my g2 over my g3 anyday. The g3 truly is a g2 with features

I have a great or stupid idea for a YR channel. Rake a new Tacoma off the lot strap it to dyno keep it fueled and let it run until it stops. Only shutting it down to change fluids.
