    Today I purchased a 2012 Tacoma 2.7l 5spd 4x4 access cab.
Love it so far. But the manual calls for 245 tires and it has 265 on it. I'm wondering how much performance I'm losing and especial how many mpg.
    Thanks

Hi tax, and welcome to TW.

Your tire diameter difference from stock effects your odometer's accuracy. So add 4% to whatever gas mileage you're calculating because you're actually travelling about 4% farther than your odometer is indicating.

Unless I miscalculated, the diameters of both sizes are nearly the same. The only likely effect on gas mileage is probably due to any difference in weight, and that would be minimal.

Like others have said, they are nearly identical. It will all come down to weight and the type of tire A/T, All season, P trim, LT trim etc etc...I got the M/S2 all season P265/70/16 and see no difference in MPG ftom the 245/75/16 Dunlop at20, just overall better driving experience

ms2 are 20lbs heavier than the dunlops.

    Within .4% of each other.
    That's a pretty close match. :)
