How many of you actually remove the air dam from the front bumper?

Been debating about doing that to my wind chill pearl or buying the Tacoma lifestyle carbon caps.

I removed my air dam this weekend. I'm still on the fence about putting it back. The truck looks great without it, but for long distances I think the dam has a noticeable purpose.

I drive 50 miles a day on the highway.

MPG went from 23 to 20. I get a wind howling noise I never heard before and wind gusts shake the truck a lot more than I have experienced since getting my Tacoma.

I'll test it for a few more days.

I haven't noticed any dramatic change in fuel economy/consumption with my air dam removed and TRD Skid installed.

The longest stretch of road wife & I have traveled is from Dover, DE to Chincoteague Island, VA.

Like many others, I took mine off when I upgraded the wheels and AT tires. I think it looks better and haven't noticed any decrease in gas mileage that I don't think is caused by the larger tires.

Removed mine when I installed the TRD skid plate. I think it looks better now

Brings back memories of living in northern Vermont. Our small "downtown" area (which they called the village) had pavement. Go half a mile north or south and it was dirt from there on. Every year they'd pick the roads getting re-graded, dirt filled in etc, but other than that you were off roading even if you didn't want to off road. Then, of course, there was mud season....lol

The trail edition doesn’t come with one so not sure how much of a difference it makes but by looking at the pictures it definitely looks better without.

I left mine on. I can't really see it at 70 MPH.

I've taken many a trip to wheelock doing some hunting, and fishing there, not to mention riding our dirt bikes on those old dirt roads, and trails...beautiful area, and plenty of spring mud.

Here's mine the day I picked her up!

This angle shows how cumbersome the air dam looks with the tire slightly turned. First wash last summer 2021.

    And of course, without it!

I took mine off a while ago, haven’t noticed any difference in noise or mpg.
First pic is with air dam on, original grill and original lights.
Second pic is with air dam off, new grill and new OEM LED’s.
I actually put it back on for a couple days and realized that it really does look better without it.
