Thanks fellas. The county here is pretty lax for their building laws. only rule is no structure 10' from the property line and 35' max height for non-commercial. When I was living with my parents I had always dreamed of building a garage that wasn't cramped for space and able to hold a few projects at the same time, a few years ago I made that a reality :D. That pic I posted earlier is old and since then it keeps filling up with more and more stuff. The taco lives a nice easy life in there for sure.

I have about 6" of room in the garage front to back with the drawbar in the hitch. I have to back in so I don't slam the door on the wall and I don't have to squeeze out. Lol.

I can after getting a 20x10 shed built in my backyard which allowed me to open up space in my two car garage. My truck and my wife's Mazda 6 both fit inside now.

Do you have basements in Kansas City? If so and you have room down there you can set up your toolbox and workshop down there, that is what works for me. The only annoying part is having to bring tools up and down when I am working on stuff but you can get a smaller/portable toolbox to store the things you use the most and haul that back and forth. I need room in the garage for the snow blower and kids bikes.

quoting 2016, but still an issue in house design is the garages are too short for most trucks. I keep hearing 'no way to make the garage bigger', but most common issue is length, so.... Why not a bump out of the garage door?
I found this one incredibly ugly bump photo, but I've seen it done a bunch of times & they don't have to be ugly.

    garagedoorbumpout (2).jpg

Here is one that is so subtle it's hard to see. Maybe an 8" bump that doesn't stick past the gutters.

Consider a garage door bump for those couple extra inches the truck needs to come indoors.

To be honest I haven't kept track for my own sanity. I framed the inside out myself and did all the electrical work. Had an amish company come build the structure. I think I am around 50k but I could be way off lol

I have to park it outside. Last summer I have used Jet Seal from Chemical Guys and it seems to protect the paint pretty good.
