Which gives me a better gas mileage, 0W 20 or 5W-20 and should I use 87, 89, or 92 octane?

I do a lot of hiking and fishing in Maine and it's somewhat common to come across them. I was hiking near Rangeley one time on the AT. Rocky part of the trail so my head is down watching where I'm stepping. Came around a bend in the trail with thick small spruce on either side, happened to look up and there is a huge cow staring at me about 20 feet away. I immediately start to slowly retreat keeping an eye on her and then her little calf peeks out at me from behind her. I think my heart actually stopped. When I was out of her site I turned around and hiked the six miles back to the car while constantly checking my back.

Going back to my Bison story this previous April: the bed tray on my trailer normally sits between 5-6 ft off the ground (depending on ground slope). The big cow had already expressed her displeasure at our presence as soon as we arrived - there was a calf that really wanted to play with our dogs, and mama cow decided that the dogs were to blame for the calf's curiosity. If there weren't trees to block the charge, it would have been bad. So five minutes here and we already got the business end of the horns (thankfully deflected by the pines). Hooray. I stuck it out. Against all instincts, there was a shaky ass treehouse that the other half was just overjoyed as peach punch to stay at, so I stuck it out to not sour the experience. The dogs could not climb the 26 feet spiral stair to get up there, and all of the rails were waist high, and we were on a windy-ass ridge that bucked that house like it was going to Oz, so nope, I took shelter in the trailer with the dogs.

The bison had their habits where they visited our pasture twice a day. They usually rolled in at about noon, then fucked off elsewhere around two, and then at about 2-3AM they would come back, only to wander off at first light again. So, at about 2 AM I was awoken by the low pitched rumble and a couple of snorts. By snorts, I thought an 18 wheeler just pulled the parking brake next to my ear. I peeked out the screen, and there was a fucking jurassic-park eyeball staring me right back. Damn near pissed myself. I looked at the dogs, you know that warning look of "dude, you had better not make a peep right now" and the dogs looked right back and said "yeah we know, we ain't sayin' shit." We silently looked at each other, the dogs and I, then the shag carpet with a saucer sized eye in the middle, then back at each other, then back at the eye. Then the shag carpet laid down. The herd had bedded down all around the trailer. At first light, they moved out. phew. Maybe I can catch a nap now. After I stop holding my breath. Oh, and take a quick piss break.

Next to the trailer and treehouse the owner had put up a little 15 foot shelter with a picnic table, wash basin, and charcoal grill. I was washing out my coffee pot when the owner said her good mornings. We were chatting when she remarked "I'm really surprised this shelter lasted all weekend. Junior, that little scamp, he likes to uproot it and push it down the hill as soon as I build it. I have to go get the tractor and haul it and the table back up here from that lower field every time." While nodding along to that story, I did a mental size comparison between that shelter and my trailer, and decided to get the fuck out of this situation a day early.

I had my 9mm and a couple of cans of bear spray, all located around the camper. I didn't even bother reaching for any of it. I don't think that the bison would have appreciated it.
