How many of you had problems getting your alignment in spec with the 5100s at 2.5? After searching for hours between this site and toyotanation it seems like there's no clear-cut answer. Buying new uca's are completely out of the question for me, and I don't know if putting out the money for the 5100s + installation + an alignment is worth it to me for just 1.75" of lift.

I found a poll for those who experienced vibes after a lift. I understand that my rides going to be affected, but I just don't want premature wear on my new dynapros

I have a 3" lift with stock UCAs. My alignment is fine. If you do 2.5 on the 5100s in the front do something to the back to avoid the bro lean and your ride will be harsher at 2.5 then 1.75. I did the 1.75 setting on my last truck and it drove great. No vibes or issues.

Cool, thanks for the input. I plan on doing an aal for the rear. I'm taking the truck to my buddy's dad's shop to get them installed next week. I don't offroad too much so I'm willing to deal with the harsher ride for a little more height. Just checked out your build, sick truck man

Billies @ 2.5" on stock sport coils& UCA's. No vibes and aligned fine with a little adjustment to spare.

Good to hear. Do you think there would be a difference with my off road coils?

The only drawback that I have heard is some having problems due to the OR's progressive coils making contact with each other through the initial stroke leading to a harsh ride. I would consider some Eibach's or OME's and 5100's set @ 0" or .85".

This has been covered a few times but I couldnt really find the link myself let alone you lol. I actually made a post about this and found people were pretty much split. The thing that caught my attention was that NOBODY was regretting the UCA upgrade when it was done. I was the same. I had the 5100s at 1.75 and even with a near perfect alignment I still scalloped my tires a bit and it just didnt feel right. Now when I added the eibachs and the top plate spacer for 3" total at .85, I added the URD UCA and its definitally worth it. Does not effect the drive from stock anymore and got a perfect alignment (after a long long long list of places and me losing my shit on people because they didnt listen to how me about them).
Im happy I spent the 400 bucks, and when Im done with them Ill just take em off, sell them for a couple hundred obo and put my old ones on back to stock on a suspension thats still in great shape.
    Good luck with your choice

your offroad coils will be much harsher ride because they are progressive rate. sport coils are not.

Thanks for the input man. I'm starting to think that I should just hold off for a while and just do it all right at once with coilovers and ucas. Unfortunately I'm in college and make 9$ an hour in a grocery store on weekends lol. What would you think about running the billies at 1.75 with 1/4" top plate spacers to give me 2.25"? How significant was your tire wear at 1.75?

Should I try to pick up some used sport coils? Or at that point would it be better to just get eibach's or ome's?

well it might have been just a bad alignment but it definitally didnt feel as smooth now as it did without the UCA. With a budget in mind, I would go with the 5100s though again. They were nice for the price. Nothing wrong with them

I had a bcsb sport with 5100 at .85 and they felt great not harsh at all. Then I put the eiblachs in at . 85 with 1/2 spacers , got 3.25 lift and it was really stiff until I added front plate bumper and skid. Now I'm sitting at 2.5 to 3" haven't found a level spot because every time I measure it's a little different. But with the weight they fell great. I also removed sway bar when I installed the bumper . I have sport coils for sale if u want to try that but I would just use yours and down the road add weight ie bumper or skids

Are you having any alignment problems without new control arms? I really like the look of the arb bumpers, they're just so much money lol. How much lift did you get from the 5100s and eibachs without the top plate spacer?

I forgot to put I have The LR UCA Not sure if i needed it but my alinement came out great with it at -2 caster setting. it would of been way off without it.I installed the 1/2" spacers at the time of the lift so i have no idea what it would of been. probably only 2" with the extra weight.but most get 2.5"

So basically it's just a gamble on whether or not to get uca's at 2.5"? I guess I'll just take my chances, I really don't have an extra 500$ to shell out for them
