    Meaning you either:

    A. Don't offroad
    B. Don't consistently haul or tow

Just curious. I am in the gray area I think. I do minimal offroading or towing/hauling, but I do use it for road-trips/camping/throw the bikes in the back etc. Technically I could do all that with a car I guess but I just love having the truck.

    Added a poll as well.

I always haul things with my truck. Couldnt get by without one. Landscaping for my house, remodeling materials for house, construction materials for side work, and trailer. Plus the mountains, kayaking, and camping for fun. I had a ridgeline at one point, and that wasnt enough of a capable truck to do what I needed.

Had a 11' wrx that I babied and a 4Runner that I used for hauling my dog around. Baby was born and I decided I needed to seperate the two and keep dog smell out of the cab. I do no towing or off-roading and the Subaru did great with the kayak and getting me to the slopes (snowboarding), But why wouldn't I want a Tacoma ? ? ? :taco:

I use it for everything, it's my daily driver while the car sits in the driveway. It does it get used offroad time to time and for hauling but I just enjoy driving it for what ever the reason.

I expect the "little bit of both category" to receive the most votes. The Tacoma was designed to be a More car like truck for people who can't necessarily justify buying a full-size but also don't want a car because they do some hauling...but nothing over the top. It's a great idea, since half the imbeciles driving F-250's and the like are lucky if they haul a children's bicycle every other month. (At least in my town)

mostly for hauling my dirty work gear and throwing the stuff in there for our beach outings. We go camping often as well. Yeah I did all that with a car or the wires rav4 but then we always got the cab and trunk area filthy. Having a separate bed is nice

same in my city. The people I know or see around neighborhood with huge 5 inch lift trucks rarely ever use the bed, let alone open their bed cover. Also many taco owners LOL

I use my truck to go kayak fishing and to take my dog to the local tennis courts so she can find tennis balls.

Most people would be fine with a car. Very few "need" a truck.

But, the majority of truck owners, myself included, "want" a truck, and prefer it, and there's nothing wrong with this.

The way I look at it is this, with a car or suv I couldn't have bought 2 yards of mulch and brought it home, I couldn't have helped several different people move furniture, I couldn't have brought home a new refrigerator, and couldn't have brought home a riding mower. Did I "need" my truck for all these things? No, but I would have had to pay more for each thing to have them delivered.

    Same as everybody else...
I use mine as a little of both...I needed a vehicle to haul my grandkids around in and also as a replacement for my 99Ranger. I do haul stuff in the Tacoma and I also like the higher ground clearance of the truck when I go plinking or fishing.

About the only time it gets used is as a Truck.

    Dragging a Welder

Hauling a few welders in the bed

Winching a Je*p out of the ditch

    I have a 4Runner to drive if I don`t need the truck

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
Both .... It's my daily driver for the next 6-12 months, then who knows ... don't want to make past mistakes of being without a pickup and working on the house.

It is super handy for HomeDepot or Lowes trips ... i.e. a load of 12 ft. pieces of window trim for the house.

Loading process through back window ... did 4 trips and not a scratch ... :)

I use mine mostly like a car. But that's fine I like the option of going to the Depot and picking up a 5' section of 2"x4"'s and the 4wd drive in nice to get me out of places I probably should be anyway. I bought a truck because I wanted a truck not a Corolla, not that there's anything wrong with them just not my vehicle.

This also irks me to no end. I see so many F250s that aren't used for much more than showing how the people that own them don't even know how to drive them properly.

It's my daily driver, but I also use it for "light" off-roading for hunting and fishing. I don't go rock crawling, but I spend a lot of time on of dirt roads and old logging trails. I also use it for hauling - kayaks, tree stands, home projects, motorcycles, etc. I also commute 100+ miles 4-5 days a week, hence my choosing the Tacoma over an F-150 or Silverado, and weighing even heavier on my decision to choose the 4 cyl.
