I was lucking enough to be able to pay cash for my 2017 SR5, and I was wondering how many of you on the forum paid cash for your new Tacoma's.

Quite a few folks paid cash. Others could have done so but chose to invest the cash instead. In any case, congratulations!

I did with my Off Road, and the first time I've ever paid in full when buying a vehicle. Pretty good feeling!

Paid cash. Self-employed so income is good some months not so good others. If I have to make payments I can not afford it. (wife tells me.)

this thread is kind of pointless, as the 2nd poster said. Some people could put down a 5k down payment and make the rest of their money work for them, given this only applies if you have great credit and can get a low interest rate. My credit union offered me 1.9%

"raise your hand if your house is paid off at 25.. oh me, goodness I must be damn special".. that's what this comes off as OP..

Some owners paid cash. The rest of us understand finance.

well dealer messed up my paperwork, after my downpayment in december I just now heard back from them after south east toyota ran my credit twice, I said "send the paperwork to my credit union and let someone competent complete my paperwork.

So I never financed through toyota and still got my $750 grad rebate and $500 manufacture part supplier discount for my original cosigner who is now no longer cosigned and off title because, hey they messed up and I benefited with no payments for 4 months lol..

I paid cash for a Mtn Dew and a bag of chips, does that count?

Oh wait, I put it on the credit card with my gas.

I guess that means only 12 easy monthly payments and that Dew is all mine :bananadance:

Seriously though OP, this thread comes off as a bit of braggadocio.

I wish I could've but at the price of a TRD off road in Canada nope.
put 27k down so my monthly payments are reasonable. Truck was like 50k after taxes out the door so ya.
Way I see it, which I'm sure some will disagree with, you can save for however long it takes you to get whatever amount you need for it. depending what your yearly income is etc could take a while. I saved up 27k over 1 year, and had didn't trade anything for my truck, I kept my old car. So may as well pay for it while you use it.

I'm curious for those that did pay full out for it did you pay the full 35k+ that they cost or did you just trade something in and pay the difference?

Also everyone's finances & specific situations/needs are different.

I had a low mileage 2011 WRX to trade. I had financed the WRX but paid it off. I needed a simple truck to carry stuff. A 4 banger 4x2 was all I needed, so I got an SR Utility package. Spun a cash deal for that. If I wanted a TRD Off Road, I would have financed. Doesn't make me any more special than someone who financed, though to be fair I am happy that I managed to negotiate a great deal on the trade in.:notsure:

like an older thread of some guy wanting to trade his limited for an off road and saying how he can afford the loss as he 'does all right' since he was a doctor making 400k a year.
Great for him but came off as someone just trying to show off.

sir I put everything on credit card then pay it off in a few days when it clears.. I get 4% cash back on everything at gas stations!

i use my credit cards as debit cards because getting 2% cash back on every day purchases, 3% on restaurants, 4% on gas is tits!

Edit: doing this has raised my credit substantially. I usually check my citi credit card app at the end of every week and pay off all expenses. So I never pay interest. It's the little things that matter, and me being 25 my credit history isn't that long..
