How many people here would buy a new land cruiser pickup over a new tacoma if it was an option?

My OZ buddy in the mining industry, says mixed with Rangers, which he likes it better than the HiLux. Hates the LC70s. Grass is always greener I suppose.

Talking with the guys at the mine, the LC70s ride like shit, due to 1 tonne suspension, however they are ONLY trucks that survive underground in the tunnels. They’ve tried cheaper options like Canyons and Rangers and they just get totally destroyed. I’ve been in these trucks on the decent into the workings and “off road” is an understatement. Nobody in the overland crowd is wheeling harder that they do in the tunnels.

Unfortunately I don’t have the ticket, as a contractor, they require to drive underground so I just get to be a passenger.

That is his biggest complaint, of course if you want it it to hold up, the ride isn’t going to very nice. Not sure exactly what he does, but kinda high up on the ladder so he doesn’t have to get his hands dirty. Also said they can’t get the Super Duty Fords to stay together. Guess they have a few of those over there too.

For their personal vehicles in Australia him and his brother chose the Ranger over the HiLux, they just use them to yank dirt bikes around though.
