I can say I was part of the 2015 crowd because I didn't like the 2016 "swollen by a bee bite" look.. lol

If you could have swung a deal you liked, you would have been just as happy with the ridgeline too....it's an excellent little truck, not made for rough going but will handle mud and snow and drives and handles like a car....both the Taco and Ridgelines are good buys.

I waited for the 16 until they had a demo locally, went and checked it out, didn't like the huge front of the 2016 that makes the rest of the truck looks small (ugly). Went to a few dealerships and inquired about the 2016 (even though i was shopping for a 2015 :)) and every dealer I went to convinced me to get a 2015 model. The last dealer gave me almost 4k off msrp. Ended up with a 2015 DCSB TRD sport 4x4 MGM and happy with it.

Drove by a dealership today with a couple of '16's on the lot. Aesthetically speaking I'm not a fan. Too long in the front end. I am discouraged to see our "mid" sized truck slowly become a full size truck. Once the buzz wears off I may take one for a test drive; but not in a big rush to trade in the 2009.

I believe it would still be considered a new design....it's running a new unproven control system. The "Atkinson" cycle is not proven on these Toyota engines. The auto and manual transmissions are also new.

I'm with you on not being happy about the new size. I figure since it's getting closer to full size I am forced to look at the GM twins, and guess what... so far the Canyon beats the '16 Taco in my opinion. I'm still considering a '15 Taco, but harder and harder to find what I want.

If I was in the market for a new truck I'd likely be dealing on a '15 Tacoma as it's the perfect time to score a great deal. The Taco may not be the sector leader when it comes to all the options and latest bells and whistles but you cannot beat the reliability and great resale value. Chev/GM can't touch that.

I did the same thing, but I will probably drive my 2015 for quite a while. I like driving a paid for vehicle. I saved thousands by buying probably the last 2015 TRD OR DCSB in OK before the 2016s hit the lot. Truth is I miss my 2004.

Found in Hilux as well as other cars. As a reference, cross pollination has been going on for many years.

I'll stick with my 15 till I get tired of the "why doesn't this have dual climate control" question. At that point, hopefully a TRD OR with dual climate control won't start at $38k. seeing a lot at $40k right now. $7k premium is a lot to pay so the wifey doesn't get cold.

I bought the 2015 due to price compared to the 2016. Although, I tend to hold cars for a long time if Toyota ever makes a Tacoma that I can adjust the height of the seat it will make me think

I like the "updated" second gen look- turned in my rotted frame '06 and drove away in a '15 this summer. The '16's looks have not grown on me and I liked moving my accessories over from the old truck to the new one. Plus the whole "new car kinks" always concern me- after working at a dealer for 10+ years, That weighs in my decisions to buy cars, motorcycles, etc...

We bought our 2015 DCLB TRD Sport at the end of April. We were ready to buy then and we needed a truck to replace our 1996 Ranger. Had lots of stuff to haul and waiting for the 2016s was not really an option for us. If we were purchasing now I am sure we would look at the 2106s though with the price difference I don't know what we would have decided. Anyway we really like our Tacoma and plan on keeping it for many years.
