I have mentioned a couple times to friends that I believe Toyota could actually continue selling the 2nd gen along side the 3rd gen and still move a lot of both trucks.

It's like one is a different flavor than the other.

    That doesn't sound fun lol

I bet you are right. There are some things I like about the 3rd gen, but to be honest I'm not sure if I like it more than the 2nd gen just yet.

They could do like a luxury line and a working line. So many ways they can go if they did this.

I bought the 2014 because I wanted a single cab 4X4 5 speed with a bench and no power options. Judging by the discussions I've seen on here, I think I may have purchased one of the last ones made in June 2014.

I think the gen 3 looks better than the gen 2. I did buy a 15 for a couple reasons though. They gave a better than normal price to get it off the lot for the 16s, there is good reliability info on them having been manufactured for 10 years (and in theory the kinks should be worked out), and I would have had to wait another year or two for the new gen because I refuse to buy the first year of any remodel.

This is of course just my own opinion, but I like the overall looks of the 2nd gen better (although I do like the new tailgate on the 3rd gen). All other points I'm in full agreement with.

I bought my '15 in March but I love the Gen 3 and think about trading it in everytime I come to the forum. I really like that they finally included some of the convenience features that have been standard in other trucks/cars for a long time. It actually looks like it belongs in the year 2015. With that said, I'll probably wait a couple years until I do pull the trigger. I'm not big on mods so I need the truck to be solid off the assembly line. Only time will tell.

Just curious what they added to the 16 that the 15 didn't have convenience wise. I didn't do much research on them past the power plants.
