How many quarts of oil for 2nd gen 4.0 oil change

    I usually buy one of dem right thurr big 5-6 quart jugs of earl and end up with about a trickle in that derrr bottom of the jug.

    Supercharger, OME lift w/ LR UCAs, running boards, toolbox, extinguisher mount, skidplate, N-Fab light bar, 40" R.I. LED bar, WO seat covers, TRD intake, Weathertech mats and visors, stubby antenna, hood struts, LED interior lighting, Hella Supertones, and other stuff I'm forgetting.
    While your in there, change the spark plugs. Just leave the gap extra long and the piston will set it for you.

    4.0 V6 I use 6 quarts with the long filter. If you use the stubby filter 5 1/2 Qts.

    6 quarts. The oil is maybe 1/16 over the full dot. The filter is the bigger one yy3 or zz3 something like that. Never had issue.

    Old thread, but what the heck. It's supposed to hold 5.5 quarts, but you will never get all of the old oil out. I buy oil in 5 qt jugs and dump in one jug. By the time it's ready for the next oil change it's about 1/2 qt low.
