I average 200-300 rounds when I go to the range:
    - ~100 rounds of .223
    - ~100 rounds of .22LR
    - ~50 rounds of 9mm
    - ~25 rounds of .357 / .38
    - ~20 rounds of .308

Thankfully, I load all but the .22LR on my Dillon Precision RL550B. After the initial investment, it makes shooting a LOT less expensive.

And some other crap
    Mine would be something like.

    500-1,000 22LR

don't shoot my .38 special but have 300 rounds for it.

50 rounds of .40 S&W but now that I have a Beretta Storm more like 100 rounds.

40-50 12 gauge. If I get a KSG that number will at least double!!

20-50 of .44 mag (kinda pricy nowadays)

10-20 S&W .500 mag (shit is more pricy)

If I end up getting a .223 AR probablly no more than 50.

And to mix it up I bring my Bow.

There may be a .50AE in my future as well or maybe the .44mag version.

depends on what you want. high capacity, or high stopping power. cost of rounds, ect...

i wont carry a 9mm on duty, prefer the .45... however i'm forced to carry a .40 because of SRT. dont like the way it shoots, too much recoil. at least they gave me a new gun when i made the team... and when we shoot, probably 200 rounds pistol, 1000+ 5.7 :D

My husband reloads - so it doesn't matter how much we use.

In one trip to the range between the two of us - probably close to 500 and they go quick.

    I could buy 1000 rounds for $200...

you know they tell you not to shoot more than 100 rounds with your shotty at any one time...ear damage and possible retinal detatchment...

I usually go through 150-200 rounds if I go on my own. Training days are different.

Yeah, it does save money.... but there are soooo many different variables. There are so many different reloading equipment available and they vary in cost and ease of use. You can spend a shit-ton of money on reloading equipment.

I don't know much about it, but from the things he tells me - it's like being a scientist. You can't just slap anything together. Aside from bullet sizes, there are different weights, designs, etc. Powders are different, primers are different. Too much or too little powder can be extremely dangerous. In fact, if the whole process isn't done properly, can be extremely dangerous.

In terms of cost - it's like anything else...You price shop and buy in bulk. Reloading takes A LOT of time..... hours and hours in the basement. My husband says its 'relaxing' and he enjoys doing it. If you don't have the time for it, its not going to be worth getting into it.

This ^^. I haven't shopped for components (brass, primers, powder, or bullets) in a while but, IIRC, I save 30%-50% by reloading my own ammo. As an added bonus, I was able to dial-in my (rifle) loads for better accuracy than I ever achieved with factory ammo.

I shoot about 50-100rds through my XDM 5.25 9mm and 30-60 rds of .223 through my AR15. I go maybe twice a month, I've invested in reloading equipment and it's helped on prices. Problem is, I get lazy and go halfsies on bulk ammo with my friends so I don't get the use out of it I should.

The rounds I have reloaded for my AR15 turned out amazing, had a quarter inch spread at 100yds on iron sights. As someone else already stated, reloading is essential for the best accuracy, there is a reason all the professionals competing reload their own or buy the 50$ for 20rds of .223 competition rounds.

There's no real "range" so we cant go bat shit crazy with our shooting...since the only place to go is private lands. usually less than 100.
    :pout:

Went shooting with the local FBI/DEA guys and some LAPD SWAT officers a few years ago..Put about 1500 rounds of 5.56, 30.06, 9mm, 10mm, .45 and various shotgun loads before the cops stormed the place we were shooting at.

Interesting to watch the responding LEO's faces when they walked up on us with mp5's, assault shotguns, LE ARs and an M1 garand.

"We have waay too much 10mm ammo, you can shoot as many mags as you want"
FBI 10mm MP5's are ridiculously fun
