    I don't think I've ever seen a compressor die from too much oil. I'm sure it's possible. The best thing to do is to have it vacuumed and filled to spec. I agree the compressors do "wick" some oil through the rubber seal. All the more reason to make sure they are properly filled with oil.

    I bought it at a garage sell used in june 1990.......
    I cycle it every 30 days.......

    getting really to turn it off because its getting too cold in here.
    its 106.3F on my front porch right now.....
