My very first vehicle was an '01 Tacoma TRD Off Road. Should've never sold it.

Have come full circle back to a '23 Tacoma SR. A couple Rams and a Ford came between the two.

I have definitely had a few, all 3rd gens. I have a problem with buying new vehicles...

2016 TRD OR DCSB auto in Quicksand (sold to my parents, they still own it)
2018 TRD OR DCSB manual in Cement (traded out)
2021 TRD OR DCSB manual in Super White (traded out)
2022 SR5 ACLB auto in Magnetic Grey (traded in due to unresolved electrical issues)
2023 SR DCSB auto in Barcelona Red (Current and hopefully last for quite some time)

All purchased brand new except for my current truck, waited too long to get a new 23 and did not want to risk a 4th gen so bought my 23 SR certified pre-owned with about 18,000 miles on it.

I've had a lot of vehicles, and always seem to come back to a 3rd gen Tacoma or a 5th gen 4runner. Love this era of Toyota trucks. In truth, I prefer the 4runner but at times I just need a pickup bed.

    Three.

2002 that went RIP in January when a tourist ran into my truck and totaled it.

    2018 that replaced the 2002.

    2022 that my son drives.

Man what a sweet history with the venerable and mighty Taco. Hell yeah. Love to see it. I've got my very first Taco, back in Nov of 2024 and couldn't love it more. It's a sweet little one owner, AC with the 6' bed, and no auto anything. Key start and I am thrilled with mine. Only 43k miles on it too, hoping to keep this bad little dude for a few decades

    2023 Tacoma SR AC V6 4x4 | 1991 Toyota Pickup 4x4 DLX V6
I've owned five Toyota trucks. Four Tacomas to be precise.

1991 Toyota Pickup, DLX, 4x4, 3.0 V6, 5-Speed - My Dad bought it from the original owner in 1994 while we were stationed in Alaska. He passed it on to me in 2012. When I got it, it had 127k miles on it. 13 years later, it has 173k miles, and I have no plans to sell it.

    Instagram Resolution.jpg

2004 Toyota Tacoma, TRD Off-Road Prerunner, 3.4L V6, Automatic - My first Tacoma. I loved the first gen Tacoma and I was thrilled to get one. I bought it in 2014 and kept it for about a year. I foolishly traded it in on a 2015 thinking a new truck would make me happier. It didn't. What I would do to have this truck back.

    DSC_0194 (2).jpg

2015 Toyota Tacoma, SR5, Prerunner, 4.0L V6, Automatic - Traded in the 2004 and bought this one new. I couldn't afford a 4x4 at the time so I settled for another Prerunner. Kept it roughly six months before selling. I took a seven year break from Tacomas after this truck. Looking back if I had splurged for a 4x4, I may have kept this one. The 2GR 4.0L V6, 5-Speed auto, and the looks of the second gen Taco are hard to beat!

    IMG_4416.jpg

2022 Toyota Tacoma, SR, 4x4, 2.7, Automatic - I ordered an Access Cab TRD Off-Road but being in the Southeast, they were next to impossible to allocate. While waiting for one to come in, I needed a truck. The dealer had this on the lot, so a deal was made and I bought it. The 2.7L I4 was definitely underpowered, but it was a plucky little engine.

    IMG_1035.jpg

2023 Toyota Tacoma, SR, 4x4, 3.5L V6, Automatic - By 2023 it was apparent I wasn't going to get my TRD Off-Road. I was adamant that I wanted an Access Cab and I wanted another V6. Thanks to Pandemic resale values, I broke even on the 2022, and bought the 2023. I still wish I had been able to land a TRD Off-Road but my SR has been able to do everything I ask of it.
