How many without TPMS?

It was a used truck that I bought from them. The light just popped on when I was driving on the interstate. Naturally I pulled over and checked the pressures manually, no problems. Took it in the next day and they said it was broken and needed to be replaced.

I was talking about how they removed the wheel when they were checking it out. They said they couldn't let me leave without replacing it because it was against the law. I told them that was fine but I wasn't going to pay for it because I just bought the truck. I guess I called their bluff because I left shortly after with the same broken TPMS. Did everything I could to get them to fix it and they wouldn't...assholes.

It is an interesting read. Probably the only time it's enforced is if something untoward happened and someone subsequently made an issue of it; another 'gotcha' reg? I opted to have cloneable sensors put in my second set of wheels...

 

I think in some states the TPMS has to be intact for a dealer to sell the vehicle as well.
