Hey all i just put two Hella 500 lights with 55w DDM HIDs in them and love them :D

My question is how much power do they draw? i am curious because i just put two on a 12v 40amp relay and am wonder if i can put two more on the same relay...or should i get another one?? because i have two more hellas wanting on my truck ... :)

watts divided by voltage = amp draw....means with two lights ur sucking about 9 amps through the relay assuming you dont have corroded wires or other ressistance causing issues

x2...you should be ok...worst case scenario 2 lights will pull about 10A max, therefore 4 will pull about 20 max. Just be sure to keep the wiring and fuses separate, or ensure you get the proper guage to handle all 4. Check out my electrical basics thread (link in sig).

Yea i tried wiring them up yesterday...went bad. The drew to much through the wire i have threw the switch in the cable. was smoking just a bit lol was scary. so now i think ill just put in a second switch and stuff. be nice to have control of the 4300k and the 6000k, narrow/wide lights separately.
