    well i just counted and i have about 1200 shells for my 12 gauges and about 600 rounds for my .40 havent counted the 20 gauge shells yet. dont have rifle rounds cuz i dont keep the rifles at my house.

    Depends on the caliber and how often I use it.
    When I find a good deal on 12 ga and I know I might get a chance to shoot some Clays then I stock up. 500 or more rounds.
    .22 I keep around 750 to 1,000 for target practice.
    The last factor is space if I have room to store it.
