How much are you paying for this Tacoma S/C 4x4 on eBay?

Been eyeing this on eBay and have been in contact with the owner. Looking for something I don’t need to put too much money into once I buy it. Looking like a supercharger rebuild, 7th injector kit (maybe?) and fixing the locking rear diff. Anything else in your opinion as well? Thanks for the opinions!

Probably Need new shocks, think about this, if the frame was replaced that means everything else had to be rusty so expect to get it with rusty parts the rear locker could be nothing but needing to drive for a while to engage it, mine was funky at first and now I think because I stop 100% every time and engage or disengaged so that could be nothing ornit could be a new locker motor, supercharger could be an issue or maybe the compression is low and the motor itself isn't pulling like it should from having some kid beat on it, lots of things to think about with a ebay truck

I wouldn't touch that rig with all the corrosion it has. And that's based on what little is shown in the photos. Can only imigine how bad the rest of it is. A new frame doesn't seem so great if you put your foot through the floorboard.

I'll bet there isn't much bed left under that liner.

 

I would never buy a vehicle that I couldnt see and drive in person.

 

Seven years ago, I bought a Miata, which I still own, through Ebay.

If for some reason, the vehicle auctioned off, is not as described, you can get out of the whole transaction, provided that the deposit was done through PayPal, or your credit card. That said, I agree with @2BeersPlease, that truck looks like a rust nightmare!

 

For comparison, I just recently bought a stock, rust-free, very clean, '03 with 130k miles, xtra cab V6 TRD 4x4, timing belt done, good tires, towing package, with everything working for ten and a half. I looked at a lot of trucks for 2-3 months.

I'd pass due to rust & broken stuff. I saw this same guy Mario listing a lot of Tacomas and they all seemed on the higher end, price-wise. I'd rather spend $1-2k more than his Buy It Now price and get a rust-free truck with 75k miles, which I saw instances of. I remember one specifically (xtra cab, non-TRD, ~70k miles) with a Buy It Now of 14.9k.

Edit: I should add that I didn't look for double cabs, so I'm sure that adds some value that I'm not taking into consideration.

All four of my Tacomas were eBay purchases. All were within several hours travel time, although two were out of state. Two were private sales and two were dealers. I was able to check them over in person before completing the purchase, so I didn't find the process any different than buying in person.

This dealer is about an hour from me, but I don't know them personally. If you are seriously considering this one, I may be in that area this week, and could take a look at it for you.

Edit: Ask for more pictures of the undercarriage if that's concerning to you. It's a cold weather truck, so it's not going to be as clean as a warm weather truck.

I wasn't aware, I don't even remember if they had that 10 year cutoff then. Still, glad you posted this, that way the OP can infrom himself!

 

I have asked two members from the north and they both have the opinion that the rust is actually pretty good for a northeast truck. It’s not nearly as clean as I see in the south or CA, but it’s like comparing apples to oranges. I’m going to place a bid today probably, but have no desire to pay $13k. The dealer told me he would do 11.8k outside of eBay.
