So I posted earlier about getting an OTD price for 37K for a TRD Sport 4x2, JBL, carpet mats, & Tow package. The MSRP for the truck is $36,823. Went into the dealership today to see if I can get a better deal. I was there for a few hours and they went down to$33,199.50 which is $36,846 OTD. Didn't like the deal so I told them no deal and was getting ready to walk away.

They made me another offer of $32,699.50 which is $36,305.50 OTD with a 2.99 APR. I still didn't take it and walked away. Was I dumb to walk away from this deal? Do you know that's a good deal

Is $36k the amount you are financing?

Asking a forum that has folks from all over the place if a price is a good deal is hard to answer as costs of living are different everywhere. Its like asking if $1000/mo for a 700 sq ft apartment is a good deal. For someone who lives in Potatoville ID, its probably not a good deal, for someone who lives in NY or CA, that's a probably a pretty good deal. Just take the answers to your question with a grain of salt.

Now for someone who lives in AZ, is $36k for a TRD 4x2 with minimal options a good deal? I would say No. Why? I financed a '17 TRD OR 4x4 Double Cab Auto w/Premium, Tech, Tow, and Sunroof along with toyota all weather mats for $35k @ 3.15 APR. MSRP was $40.6k. Only thing I didnt get was leather.

Hopefully someone from your state will chime in here that will give you something thats more useful to you that my rant.

    Good luck!

nothing yet, just tacked on the all weathertech mats and using the free factory cover on the back of it
probably not helpful, but my 16 set up like yours was 32,3xx. less the boards, and + factory cover . so, i feel like your houston $ was reasonable??

I got 1.99 on mine thru my credit union. I had to go 4 years to get that. I think 5 years would have been 2.34.

2.6 is good. Interest rates can change monthly.

I would say so. My SR was the same price. 2.7 double cab. Tint, nerf bars, convenience package was added. You might want to consider the V6 if you are in TX like I am. I get my doors blown off on these 70mph highways out here. The truck is fine around town and zero to 60, but anything above that and it has to down shift for the slightest hill.

Nice! Care to share dealer/sales person info?

I've reached out to half a dozen dealers in SoCal (internet sales) and they all wanted MSRP for manual transmission models. One even offered $4000 off MSRP for a 4x4 TRD Sport automatic... but wouldn't budge on the manual he had on the lot.

Toyota of Escondido. Dealt with Patty Dean, Internet Sales Director. Very good to deal with. I got pricing proposals from 8 different dealers. She was lowest right out of the gate, and came down a little more when I contacted final 3 dealers and asked them for "best and final".

I was able to get 1.99 for 7 years through a local credit union. 730 credit score. My wife and I have always gotten the best rate through our credit union. Toyota offered us above 3% and we said f that.

We purchased a 2017 SR5 DC and got 13% off of MSRP sticker. That put us OTD at about $1000 less the the sticker, no trade with 6% tax. Hope this helps folks.
