How much are you paying for your 2017 Tacoma?

I got 15% off MSRP because

-Relatively Common Vehicle
-Supply was high near me, I could stake many dealers against each other.
-My dealer was a very high volume dealer, they just want to move em fast.
-End of the Month
-Dealer was nearing a monthly sales goal
-I told them I had a trade when I didn't, who knows if this played a role but many dealers will go low if you have a trade because they figure they can make up the difference in the trade.
-I recently finished another college degree and qualified for $750 rebate.

but in my opinion the number one factor will always be supply. If a dealer knows they can say "go ahead, try to get it elsewhere" and you'll have a difficult time finding more than a couple other ones they won't move very far.

 

I just bought my first Tacoma on Saturday. I used the method outlined elsewhere on this forum

I ended up at 11.24% off of MSRP

2017 DCSB OR in BBP with prem and tech/JBL and no accessories but carpet floor mats

MSRP was $39,758 and my sale price was $35,289 - no dealer fee so I saved about $4,469 off of MSRP

Luckily I also qualified for the graduate rebate so that took another $750 off.

I think I could have gone lower but I needed the truck sooner rather than later so I gave in due to time constraints. I will be writing about my experience and some tips using this dealer vs. dealer elimination process I followed in the near future.

I don't know what discount I got , but I picked up a 2017 TRD OR 4 door in quicksand without the moon roof package but it came with tint, mud guards, rubber bed mat, all weather floor mats for 34K minus taxes.

 

I might upgrade my SR 4x2 to a TRDOR 4x4. Dealer has already quickly come down to $32,750 before taxes. MSRP is $37,776. Thoughts from the peanut gallery?

 

13% off so far. which is very good. but if they easily came down to there your work isn't done. start grinding on them. seems too easy. Have you confirmed their msrp is correct, they may have inflated that some.

 

Oh I'm sure that it is slightly inflated. I'm gunning for $32k OTD which will include SC $500 tax.

 

Also once I get them where I want price wise, then I'll drop the hammer that I am looking to trade.

Thanks. Upon further review, it looks like the actual MSRP is about $36,700 without the Southeast Toyota add-ons. What do you think about $31,500 before taxes? That's right at 14% off MSRP.

 

Is it a short bed? Auto? Also, what add ons are on it? Tow package, floor liners, etc?

14% is theft in most cases. anything above 12% is usually a very good deal. negotiate until you're tired of negotiating. Either way at this point you're getting a deal you should be real happy with. Just don't give back all your hard work by letting them pull the wool over your eyes on your trade.

 

I have a deposit for a 2018 TRD Pro, but some of the offers I've seen lately really has me reconsidering. I really like the Cavalry blue, but it's getting kind of silly at this point.

The crazy part is the dealership I'm working with just took a 4th 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport w/manual transmission into their inventory. They now have 38 Tacoma's in inventory, and they're all 2017's! If January/February rolls around, and I still don't have my TRD Pro allocated (said it could take until June!), I might have to jump at a 15% off, especially if they start throwing around 0% or .9% financing.

Haha, that sounds exactly like my wife. I think she's worried that I'll get a 2017, and then trade it in a few months later... She's probably right.

Sticker on my truck was 37,268.00 I got it for 32,268.00 + taxes and 3,000.00 over KBB Mint condition on my trade in. I walked away happy. Damn happy.
