Let me spell it out for you. This was over a month ago and I put all of my paper work up.

4x4 dbl Cab AT, PT/JBL, tow, tube steps, all weather mats, and some other bullshit option I cant remember.

MSRP 40,900 includes dealer prep 900, dealer destination 300
    Discount. 3800

    New MSRP 37100
    Taxes 2900
    Added bed step 200.00

    Total OTD. 40,200.00

This does not include my trade in

    Better now

Don't worry about the trade just focus on MSRP and taxes. Most people here don't have a trade in

Not following your math. Where'd you come up with your $300 negative for a trade?

$40,900 minus $3,800 is $37,100 as stated. Add $2,900 taxes and $200 bed step and it's $40,200 as stated.

Any trade would have then reduced that figure, though in many places if the trade was part of the deal it'd reduce taxes on the new vehicle as well.

Mine is scheduled for delivery November 18th.

He said earlier in his posting he paid $40,500 OTD for the truck. Now with the trade removed, the OTD dropped to $40,200. That would imply negative equity on the trade. $3,800 off is also unheard of in this Tacoma world and to claim that on a DCLB TRDOR is even more questionable.

Edit....Why weren't taxes reduced and how much negative equity was in the trade? It would appear there was negative equity and no trade because taxes are unaffected.

*shrug* I'd have figured that for a typo.

Still, I've never been that concerned with the specifics of other claims to try to make them prove something. It's not like I'd win the Internet or anything. Plus who knows, could be an outlier where the dealer was one sale from hitting a sales record or other goal and was willing to do a one-off deal better than can be typically found. It happened to me in late-December 2008 when I nearly stole a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.

I'm not trying to win anything. We are spending our hard earned dollar on these trucks and we are using our resources on this forum to negotiate the best deals possible. If someone is spewing bullshit that is 100% untrue, I will call you out. People come on this board for realistic information to help them make educated decisions.

It depends on the market you are in when it comes to discounts. I see a lot of people on here are getting 1500 to 3000 off of MSRP. Do you want me to post up my paper work. I just hate to dig it up and upload it. Also keep in mind, I payed full MSRP for all of my options. I see some people on here are paying below MSRP on there options. It is all a money shell game. Bottom line is are you as a customer satisfield with the deal. Could I have got a few more dollars off the truck. I could have, but in the end I was happy with the whole deal especially when they sweeten the deal on my trade in. By the way, taxes were reduced with the trade in. Good luck

Meh. Deals vary by region, time of year, and other factors. $3800 off MSRP isn't unbelieveable. I had quotes for $3000 off MSRP from one simple email to a dozen dealers. One said he could do a little better if I was choosing something already on the lot. That's without military or college promos.

Plus, since it's trivial to tweak numbers on an imaged purchase order -- what proof do you think would be unequivocal?

    Limited 4x4 dbl Cab AT.

    Options:
    Bed step
    exhaust tip
    all weather floor mats

40,183 including the fees. No taxes for my since I am still in Oregon.

Went to 4 Different dealerships (in person) for quotes on my trade, out of all of them one only gave me what was realistic and what I wanted. Since, I getting money back I wanted to maximize my return. Shop around, if all the numbers are coming out the same after you visit a few chances are that is what you will pay. They also had to do a locate for my truck as well.

starting to wonder if my dealer will ever get allocation for my build.

they gave me a fair deal, but I get the feeling that they are low volume on the Tacoma sales.

Going on about 8 weeks since putting down a $1k deposit and no build date yet forthcoming.

I know this isn't much time in the grand scheme, but I'm getting slow response and zero detail from my salesman.

I'm a fairly patient person most of the time, but I'm finding myself at other dealerships looking at other vehicles.

I would discuss with the other dealerships about ordering what you want, tell them you will put a deposit down once they have the build date

Get your money back and find another dealer Dealers that deal in large volume you tend to get the better deal. When I ordered my 2017 the dealer was placing orders for the allocation of 15 2017 tacomas
