Because knowing whether you bought a DCOR 4x4 with a tow package vs. an SR5 with $5k of pin-striping, helps everyone know what to expect...

Well it's a DCOR 4x4 with tech minus JBL, tow package, predator steps, tonneau cover.

That sounds pretty awesome. Were there a bunch of dealer add-on's that brought the price up? Looks like the OTD price might have been around $38k? Where is this located?

There was a $899 protection package....
    Dent/ding repair
    Key replacement
    Lifetime tint
    Nitro
    Windshield repair
    Interior protection
    Blinking third brake light.

I hate dealer adds as I always tint my windows darker and do not need Nitrogen in my tires, but felt like I was getting a good deal so I paid it :-(.

Ah, that makes more sense - until you added these the MSRP didn't add up.

I had a deposit down on a 2017 DCSB 4x4 SR in Super White, with just convenience package and tow package. Scumbag dealer pushed delivery back a week, then two weeks, then two weeks. Fuck that. I disputed the charge on the deposit, and found another Taco. For what it is worth, the SR was at $32k OTD, which was solidly between MSRP and invoice if you subtract ~2k in tax.

A dealership near me had a 2017 DCLB 4x4 SR5 in stock, also in white. It has tow package, mats, stealth running boards, some paint thing, and tint. Sticker was up there, but I paid $34k OTD, including tax/tag fees.

    Adding invoice costs:
    base truck is $30816
    destination fees $935
    floor mats $218
    tow package $579
5" oval tube step chrome $399
    tint ???
    door sill protectors $139
    -----------
    invoice: $33086

I financed through Toyota at the dealership, and was eligible for a $750 college grad credit, which was essentially $750 free down payment that went towards the cost. Subtracting that from the invoice puts dealer invoice effectively at $32336.

I'll take pics of the truck and sticker sheet later today. Oddly enough, not all of the features on the truck are not mentioned on the sticker sheet. Is that common?

It's not much better for me at 7.85%, and it seems damn near impossible to get an ordered truck with a manual for anywhere near invoice. Definitely much easier to negotiate on an automatic truck already on the lot.

Yeah very common if the dealer/Toyota is looking for a lawsuit. But if there are MORE features than whats listed, Im sure you can point them out and have the dealer charge you for them.

I bought my truck last Sunday through Costco program. After going through Costco's website I went to the dealership and their Costco rep showed me the invoice prince(can find it on Costco's website as well) and charged me invoice price+$500+whatever extras I wanted added on.

So, I bought 2017 double cab TRD off-road 4x4 with long bed and tow package and all weather floor mats and the price came out to be $35.5K which I think is very good price compare to other dealership that I shop around. Plus after doing the survey, they are giving me $200 off to purchase a tonneau cover!

Forgot to mention that this price included $900 some dollar for delivery fee. Tax and DMV were extra.

Nice! Good thing you are deciding to buy an aftermarket tonneau cover as the factory ones aren't as good and you get one from eBay a lot cheaper.

@burdweiser...I live in the love state of California where they like to tax the shiet out of everything...so my out of the door price including everything was $39.5K.

Any costco member can look up the price, but if you are not a member let me know the build you like and I can probably look it up

I honestly think that's about as good as a price you can get in California, especially with the 200 off. I got very lucky. My OTD price was 39k, base price being $150 over invoice. I tried talking them into taking out the TDA (Toyota Dealer Advertising) cost but they would have none of it. The dealer was acting really annoyed because I was trying to get the final price under 39k. In hindsight, given the demand for Tacomas in the bay area maybe they weren't actually blowing smoke up my ass when they said it was a great deal.

I got an Inferno SR5 4DR LB as loaded as you can get it. Power tailgate lock, all weather, automatic, window tint , P&T package, pinstripe (didn't care for it but it's growing on me), towing package, appearance package (color matched mirrors and fender flares), and I'm sure some other stuff I'm forgetting. They wanted $38,900 without any of the stuff they had done at the dealership (pin stripe, window tint, etc.) or any of the fees. I got them down to $36,500 out the door.

I agree...I shopped around 4 dealerships and tried to bargain and this was the best deal I could get. I even called the dealership down south (Fresno, Bakersfield, LA, Powey, San Diego) and no was going below 36.5K before taxes and fees. After dealing with 3 previous dealership, I didn't want to waste any time either. Every dealership kept saying they don't discount tacos because they have been selling like a hot cake (no competition). Plus, Costco rep at Melody toyota was very helpful and presented the costco pricing right away and didn't try to upsell or force me in to buying things I didn't want...so that was really helpful.

FWIW, I had an Extang Trifecta on my SR5 and when I traded it in for my Sport, it came with the factory tonneau - and I think it's much better (easier to open, doesn't leak, stronger, and the corners aren't peeling up...), YMMV

LA to SD were hard bargains all around, I to searched around the South bay and they weren't budging on 4x4 OR prices

Got mine for 38,500 before TTL

Mine having prem & tech w JBL gave me no wiggle room

Oh nice I went to Melody as well. They're very straight up and honest, no BS, it's a breath of fresh air compared to other dealers.

Has anyone ever purchased from Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa CA? Their prices are 3k off MSRP and it seems too good to be true. I'm in the process of trying to buy one from them, but being 5 hours away makes this a little tough. I'm trying to avoid the worst case scenario of bait and switch. Also, im trying to get a DCSB sport 6MT Tech & Tow for under 38k OTD, does anyone have a reference for a dealership anywhere along the coast from LA to Eureka?

In the bay area, if it's too good to be true, it often is. Definitely call them first. They probably can't legally advertise a fake price, but when you drive there they might have additional fees they don't show. Santa Cruz Toyota tried to tell me DMV and doc processing fees were over 1000 dollars. I walked right out. As you might've seen just a few posts above, Melody Toyota is pretty good. They're in San Bruno. When I went they were sort of blunt and brusque, but they didn't pull any shady business. I asked for a breakdown of prices and they gave me a sheet that showed everything, even dealer holdback and other stuff. I would call them and just ask them what they can do for you. It's nearing the end of the month so you might get lucky.
