I'm pretty sure there is a used car site, that tells you what the average purchase price was of a particular brand, model, year etc.

I'm pretty sure, if someone wanted to, they could use the info in this thread to determine whether a price they were given was a good deal or not, without trusting a used car site that may or may not be biased/inaccurate?

It may also enrage people to find out they paid too much for theirs.

Or swell some heads of those who got a better deal?

    whatever.

I went on that "truecar" site to try and figure out taco pricing. It was just a info gathering site for the dealers, fortunately I used my " spam " email acct. (still getting emails 4 months later after buying taco) As far as this thread goes, if someone doesn't want to research what other folks paid to help them get a good deal, they don't have to read the thread.

I for one, am glad this forum exists. I would have paid a lot more if it wasn't for this thread.

That is partially the reason I joined this site. When I do make the move to a Tacoma, I want to be aware of issues and pricing. With this thread, I know 12-15% off MSRP is considered a good to great deal.

The forum is an excellent reference point for purchasing a Tacoma.

No point. Observation. Not arguing it’s not a good idea to get the best price you can. But once we do, lots of us shell out for new lights and grilles and bumpers and wheels. Then find something we like better and sell those upgrades at a loss. So again, worthwhile as it is to get a great deal, this thread is an outlier on this site. Not knocking the thread

Thanks. I've been waiting a long time to pull the trigger and get a new truck. Figured they needed to get rid of those 19s to make room for the 20s.

2019 ORDCSB AT w/ Tech, 2wd, no dealer installed features for $33,441.60 including TTL. Also I'm a first time buyer and ended up with a 3.53% interest rate which surprised me. The dealer offered me 5%. I told him the local credit union gave me 4.5% and he came back with 3.53 which was a very pleasant surprise. From reading around this doesn't seem like the worst deal in the world. I avoided this thread like the plague for awhile, convinced I'd figure out how shitty my deal was.

deal is only shitty if you aren’t comfortable with it. Seems like you are happy, so I’d say you made a good deal. Enjoy the truck!

Ok this is the current deal. I think I'm going to pull the trigger.

TRD OR DCSB, 4x4, AT, tech package, and a bunch of factory/port options. All weather mats/door sill, black emblems, TRD shift knob, black chrome exhaust system (what is this?), bed mat, mudguards.

    Sale $33,000 + TTL
    MSRP $40,076

That's 82.3% of MSRP. There are about $1k in options I wouldn't select, but it was the color and tech package I want and a good overall price.

I have been getting Jerked around BAD here in New England. Miss quoted 3-4 times, they don't even have the right trucks in stock when I got there, won't honor the online quotes, ect. One dealers quote went up, from 3700 (internet sales managers quote) to 3800 just because I was there.

One Sales manager even admitted to me the online quotes are useless, they just are to get you here, and then we get to a price.

I had a agreed deal (42,500 MSRP @ 36600 & + they overpaid for my trade) blow up in the Finance office because they offered me a 6% APR. 6%, and would not go under 4.1. I lost my mind, because I said I would finance myself (for 3.1%), and they tried to increase the price of the truck.

I apologize for an angry rant, but is anyone getting jerked around for interest rates and penny pushing dealers? Or am I crazy? I may need therapy after finally getting a Taco.

Pulled the trigger on a 2019 Tacoma Pro A/T. After contacting 6 dealers ended up with my local dealer. Picked it up for $42,500 with 3.6 financing. I am happy with my purchase. The information on this forum really helped. Thanks.
