    Hi guys,

First time poster, long time lurker. I am shopping for a TRD Off Road, leaning towards Cement in color.

What do you consider to be a good deal on a TRD OR w/ Tech & Premium, auto, 4x4. I believe it has the door sill protectors..big deal. MSRP of $41,682. Right now they are at $37,675 after the $1000 rebate in my area. This is a secondary vehicle for me and not in a rush to buy unless I am getting a great deal. You guys thing 36K is possible?

    Thanks!

Nice truck, love the color combo! By chance did you get that pricing by financing through TFS or use your own financing?

The deal they gave me was their first price shown to me, that’s why it makes me think there is more room for them to move.

TFS doesn't have any good rates on 2019 yet, plus they would not let you have the rebate if financed through them. Depending on where you are, find a local CU with low rate or ask your dealer which CU or bank they CUDL with and what rates are available through those banks or CUs. This way you can have both, the rebate and low rate.

New car prime rate is 4.35% right now. TFS is offering 2.9% for 60 months on 2019, below prime rate, not too shabby. I went with this and pleaded my case as to why the dealer should give me another $500 off since I couldnt use the rebate and finance rate, which they agreed to.

I’m thinking you should be able to get a 2019 DCSB OR 4x4 w/tech and premium for around 36k. As to financing, my understanding is that Toyota is not giving any super deals on 2019s. 2018s were elegible for 1.9%, plus rebates. The best I heard of for a 2019 was 2.9%. I got 3.69% and paid $33,950 for a 2019 DCSB 4x4 w/tech and door sill protectors in cav. blue. for reference. The premium package is a $1500-$2000 upgrade. Dig the leather, the sun roof not so much....

That's sounds about on par with mine.
2019 DC TRD OR 4x4 in Calvary w/ Tech, Carpet floor mats, front tint, mudguards for $35,470. It also had Door Sills and guards, but I'm not sure these are extras, as they aren't listed anywhere on the invoice.

I think the Tech is worth getting. And you may save on your auto insurance premium due to the safety features.

If that's the truck you want, tell them $34,000 even or you'll walk.

Don't forget that rates will differ depending on the length of the loan, so everyone may not get the same rate on the same truck. My CU has 1.9% for 48 months, 2.9 for 60, and 3.9 for 72.

My sales guy is telling me the base TFS rate is 6.19 if I want the $1000 rebate. He said TFS will rate match but then more than likely lose the rebate. No way in hell I will finance at that rate, my credit score is 810+. I really don’t like the idea of anything over 2% but I have to be realistic that rates have went up since the last time I bought a car. Now all my conversation has been through email with this dealer, so maybe they can do better if I go in and they see I am serious. I just want all my ducks in a row before I set foot in there.

I negotiated the price of my truck before we started talking finance. The asked several times how I planned to pay for it and each time I told them I wasn’t sure... maybe put some money down and maybe finance some of it. That eliminated the trade component of the deal and allowed us to focus on price. Once the price was agreed upon, then we started talking finance. Initially I was offered the same deal: 5.99% through TF. Best they could do supposedly on a 2019. That’s where I had an advantage: Preapproved through my local bank for 3.99% and that was specifically for that truck from that particular dealership. I had an email explaining to them how to process the loan. I walked into the finance office under the pretense we were going to use my bank. Then I started asking questions, like how does a guy get 1.9%? That’s when he looked at my credit score, checked my payment history, and then came back with 3.69%. I probably could have done better in hindsight. Probably 2.9%? Who knows? Bottom line is, they have the power to offer you whatever they want, but all of this has to fit into THEIR profit equation —which includes things not directly relevant to your specific deal such as dealer incentives, etc... and that’s their closely guarded secret and it changes from month to month, quarter to quarter...

Based on Toyota's website and what I was told by my dealer, Toyotathon offers the below (until Jan 2nd).
2018 $1000 cashback OR 1.9% on 60 mo. or 2.9% on 72 mo. (based on credit score)
    2019 $500 cashback OR 2.9 on 60 mo. or 4.9 on 72 mo.
There's also a military and college grad. rebate, but not sure how those play in.

You don't get both. Although some dealerships may have there own deals.

I think the best option is to get pre-approved on a great rate from your bank or credit union and take advantage of the rebate. Or find a 2018 and get 1.9%.

My salesperson literally showed me what my payment could be on her computer by changing trade-in, down payment, rate, and length. I took the 2.9% for 60 mo. to get to the payment I felt comfortable with.

Basically what I'm seeing from this tread is $3000 to $4000 below sticker or $1000 to $2000 below invoice.

The Costco rate was $750 below invoice, but you should be able to get at least a $1000. There's also a Costco rate on the warranty (and I think parts). But again, you can negotiate the warranty down from there (I did, but still overpaid).

I even got a 50% off coupon from Costco for any parts, accessories, or service from the dealership (good up to $100) for filling out there satisfaction survey.

I’ll join in...I think I made out pretty good....

2019 TRD Sport DCSB 2wd Cavalry Blue. RollNLock M series roll up bed cover, Westin black steps (dealer accessory), and the factory black tail gate letters. Ready for it? Used, 1800 miles for $29,900+tax. Financed 3 years through Capital One at 3.99.

The guy who leased it less than a month earlier brought it back after his wife didn’t approve of the purchase and made him get a Camry:argue: Sucks for him (not me) he added the rollnlock that he probably dropped $1300 for then turned in the truck.

Truck was in what you’d expect condition for 1800 miles, still smells new and just barely broken in. Have a copy of the carfax, again just as you’d expect for a month old truck. I was ready to buy and just stumbled on it the morning on my computer while eating my breakfast. Bought it that afternoon.
