Your story sounds weird. So if you had left with your house key and a correct OD statement, you would have been fat, dumb and happy with the deal even though you left a claimed $4K on the table the first go around? Obviously you bought and drove home with the 168 miles already on it, so that should not have been a surprise. Contract mileage difference would have only been an issue for the difference in warranty consideration. Leaving without your house key is 50/50 just as much on you. I probably would have fired you as a customer also.

Sounds like you had buyers remorse on the initial agreed numbers and the mileage discrepancy was just your way to pitch a fit to renegotiate the deal.

I genuinely was pissed about the mileage differential, however minuscule or non-problematic it may seem to you. And yeah, I’m an opportunist and they wanted me to leave happy just as much as I did. Sorry?

Can anyone advise me on a deal I just made on a 2018 v6 limited 42800? I got it to 31700 with a trade in of a 2008 2wd SR base 104000 miles not including tax 8%. Left the dealer telling I have to think about it - exhausted. Anyone have input on this. One member told them 15% or forget it off msrp - they took it. Is this good or push harder. I want to go to 30,000 and then tax. 6000 for truck and 6000 of msrp. I doubt they will do it. Sorry wrong thread!

I think 10% off MSRP is more like it . Check out how much your trade in is selling for on the internet and check Kelly Blue Book trade in value at a dealer . After that do your own math and check them . Price after discounts minus trade plus tax title tags .

I'd definitely get 4x4.. better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

I am in florida. 4 x 4 isn't necessary. Hasn't snowed here since 1989 and that was more like slush. I dont need it for my dd. Everyone has diff needs ...4x2 sport works nice

If you never see yourself doing much off road then a 4x2 will save you a lot. There's the initial price, there's a 1 mpg reduction with 4x4 and there's more maintenance with the 4x4. A 4x2 will get you to a fair amount of places off the pavement. I used my previous 4x2's hunting, fishing and other light off road activities. Drove it on dirt roads, (not too much mud) over grassy fields and other such situations. Never had an issue. I didn't go off road for the sake of it, just drove to get to places I wanted to be.

There are those that suggest a 4x4 will hold value better. That may be the case but I think most of these claims are anecdotal as I've not seen any hard statistics to support this. I traded in 2012 PreRunner with relatively low mileage and got a solid value for it. It sold off of the dealers lot in about 5 days. I don't know what they got for it but surely it was more than they gave me in trade.

All that said, I'm now driving a 4x4 and it always get's me to the mall and back.

He bought a Access cab which is cheaper then DC. He bought the sport without Tech, Premiuim or any added stuff. Price sounds right to me.

I picked up a 2.7L 4x4 AC with the utility package, all weather mats/sill protectors, and the door edge guards. It's a basic truck but has everything I need in a vehicle. I put up $25,900 before taxes. I had a 2004 Extra Cab 4x4 SR5 that got totaled  from an accident. Insurance paid me $9,300 for it. The way I look at it I got a brand new truck for around $17,000.

Man, I can't believe you can buy such a nice truck for only a 2-5k down.
    Crazy.

Got a good offer for an off-road 4x4 with premium but it has the red dash accent. Do all the premium package trucks have that?

Decisions decisions. The truck is a cement dclb, my number one color choice. Wasn't really looking for the premium package, but they offered 38.6 before TTL. Could just go with it and replace it with black or gun metal myself.
