Thanks for the help. Just a couple quick emails got us down to $33050. Going to send that quote around to see if someone can get us closer to $32k

Before or after fees because I'm looking for a sr5, went through Costco and Truecar but nobody will go below around $31,500. I know southeast toyota puts some options on that you can't get rid of but wouldn't think a sport was that close.

So I noticed you are from VA. When I buy again later this year I am going to MD. First off Koons has some of the lowest prices in the country without even negotiating and... Doc and processing fees are only $299 in MD. In VA the dealer I normally deal with is $699. I bought a car a few years ago in MD and the savings was well worth the drive. Just a thought.

Nice! I went to a dealership over in MD in Dec hoping to trade in my Frontier for a nice 2018 TRD OR with all the packages. I ended up not being able to get it that day, but hopefully by the end of this year when the 2020 comes out I'll be able to purchase then. Is Koons the name of the dealership? It's well worth the 3 hour drive for me as long as I can get a good deal and leave happy ya know?

Yeah Koons is the dealership that is in Westminister, MD but they have other dealerships also in VA like Tyson’s Corner. I can save $400 just on the processing fees alone by going to MD. Plus they have the cheapest prices. If you look on cars.com they have the cheapest manual Tacomas within 500 miles of me. They have great prices on autos also if you are into them. I’m a manual kind of person. Manuals are cheaper also which is a win win.

They are a super high volume dealership so they can do much better than a smaller dealership. They may not be into hugging and kissing all their customers, but if they can get you the best deal and save you a good chunk of change it is worth it to me. LOL!

I'm looking at their website now in Westminister, have some good prices it looks like! When the times come I'll definitely give them a ring, thank you for the suggestion!

Brand new 2019 TRD OR, DCSB, AT6, Super White, with Tech Package, Blacked Out Emblem, Mudguard, and Tailgate Emblem
    MSRP: $39,211
    Discount: $3,514
Rebate: No Rebate got 1.9% for 60 months *I checked the fine print and TFS says you can not combine with the rebate which for March 2019 is $1,000 the 1.9 saves about 3k in the long run instead of it coming out to 44k)
Price: $35,697 + TTL = $39,800.04 (End total comes out to about 41k)

    Decent deal?

If you have your own financing you can still use the 1,000. Not sure if you bought it already but just a thought.

I have't bought yet but don't have my own financing so have to choose one or the other there which all said and done I don't think is going to be the BIGGEST difference I think. Unless the numbers do work out to be radically different

I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’m gonna get preapproved this go round. That way you can show the dealer the rate and they will sometimes try to beat it and even get to use the rebates which is more savings. Hope you like the truck though!

That is the price before TTL and fees. waiting to hear back from dealers this morning. If we can get someone to $32k which would be right around $34 OTD we are going to make the purchase.

I have no idea where you are located, but why don’t you purely negotiate just the OTD price (since that’s the only amount that actually matters anyway)?

What percentage is your sales tax where you live? When I purchase in the next few months I plan on being around $34,000-34,500 OTD on a manual Off Road (which is definitely possible). Our sales tax in VA is 4% so the OTD price would include truck, taxes, tags, and processing. If you spent just a hair more and got the Off Road then you could have the rear locker, better suspension, etc. Just saying this so you get the best bang for your buck and plus you are already planning on an OTD that’s is right there with an Off Road.

It’s the same thing and it’s obvious he understands what the TTL will be. Why make it more complicated? He know what he wants to spend and is negotiating for it.

I am negotiating with the dealers on the OTD price. Located in VA as well.

Only mentioning the price before TTL and fees because that is what is useful for people on the forum. If my taxes are 4% and yours are 7%, the OTD price are going to be way off with the same discount on MSRP.

I’m not saying posting the price is a bad thing at all, I’m just saying to use the OTD with the dealer since that is what you are paying for if you finance the total amount. All I’m saying is... If your OTD is like 34,000 anyway, just consider maybe looking at an OR for the best bang for your buck. Just trying to give a little advice since your are so close in price.

First off, I didn’t really ask you anything. I am trying to give this guy my opinion since he is running his deal buy us. That is what this thread is used for right? You have an OR right? If you were that close in price between a SR5 and a TRD model are you saying you would still rather buy the SR5? Just curious. It’s a no brainer if they are within a $1,000 of one another.

I was just saying he is really close in price to an OR or Sport for that matter which have additional capability features (without all of the technology, sound, and touneau cover and add ons which most people either don’t need or aren’t happy with in the end anyway). If I can’t give him advice when he discusses his deal then why does this thread exist?

Ok understand what you are saying now. Not looking at the SR5, the quote was for the TRD Sport.

From what i can tell the TRD Sport and TRD OR are almost identical in price for the 4X4 DCLB. I like the look of the sport better but added off road features is defiantly a plus. I will ask for a quote on the OR as well, to see if they are willing to discount that one further than the sport. thanks for the heads up.
