Wow, that's almost exactly the same one I'm looking for! I'll definitely need to give Aaron a call. Seems like you got a great deal!

New member that needs advice. I want to go get a 2019 TRD off road dbl cab in CA. Looking to trade in 2018 392 hemi scat pack shaker challenger for no less than 30k since this is what KBB says it is worth. Do yal think I can get a deal for a taco OR at 36k including TTL. Challenger is paid off and willing to pay cash for the difference.

Good luck getting kbb on your challenger, they’ll probably send it to auction as most Toyota dealers are gonna want a used Toyota on the lot and those will command closer to or above kbb as opposed to your scat pack. $36k OTD on a 4wd OR is gonna be diffcult even without tech and premium packages. 10% off MSRP is what you’ll want to shoot for. Most new cars aren't going to pay anything unless you really get someone on their trade. Dealerships have "minis". It's the minimum guaranteed commission on a car sale. An example might be $350 mini for a used car and $250 mini on a new car. On top of that, most manufacturers have a program. So you sell 5 new Toyota's, they might give that sales rep $50 per new car sold. You normally have to go through their training and also receive positive review scores to get that.

Legitimately, if someone is buying a new car, the salesmen will just be making a mini. I let the car salesmen know that I know the process, I know invoice, and I know holdback. I'm not trying to be rude but you will probably only make a mini on this deal. Most the time they agree and already know that and might go to bat for you.

Not sure about your area dealers, but is South Carolina I found a dealer willing to start talking $$ by taking $6,000 off MSRP. I used that in my negotiating on my truck.

Good luck on finding what you want.

Wow! That’s wild. You mind sharing more details on trim and packages as well as the msrp? Did that contain dealer add on’s? Does the $6k contain rebate?

I've seen TRD-OR models at some local dealers with MSRP's in the $47-49k range, so they include nearly 10k in options (apparently factory installed; includes things like new wheels/tires, lift, new exhaust system). Since most options are marked up 50-60% over invoice, I could see offering $6k off these loaded models. But it would be amazing to see that kind of voluntary discount on a more typical model. Wish my local dealers would offer that!

PS, Frank, thanks for explaining salesman compensation.

Frank, I deleted the email thread with their offer when I bought my truck from another dealer. Paul from the dealership told me 6 grand off any Tacoma except TRD Pro. I was looking at TRDOR, and it qualified. Paul pulled up a truck, and he quoted me MSRP and then lowered it. He sent that to me in email, but I no longer have it.

Feel free to ask them, or not. I am not affiliated with them, nor did I purchase from them. Hope this helps.

Great thread. This is going to be my first truck purchase. I live in CNY with an 8% sales tax. I have an offer from a dealership in VA for a stock 19 TRD OR 4x4, 6spd manual, Quicksand for 35,000 out the door which includes a $1000 rebate. Best offer I have received in NY is 37000 w/TTL. I plan on trading in a vehicle but they don't know that yet. How do these prices sound? Also, the interest rates on the loans for these trucks seem quite high. Is that a truck thing? I don't see any less than 4.5%. 0% seems to only exist with the Camry and other select models? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just paid 40 grand for my trd off road due to being in a rush and now im feeling buyers remorse reading this thread seeing some of the great discounts you guys got.
4x4, AT, double cab, tech and offroad packages with some of the typical bloatware you get in south florida (carpet mats and toyoguard platinum).

I have 7 days to return it, should I do it and fish for better deals? Anyone from Florida got any input?

Which dealer? Sounds like you paid a high price. None here in Miami-area would deal, so I said fuck ‘em and went to Tampa for mine.

Earlstewart in lake park, They wouldn't budge for me. It probably didn't help that it wasn't on the lot. Was an incoming delivery, finding premium+ tech pack is hard in the area. How did you do in Tampa? I don't mind driving if I can save a couple grand lol.

I did ok in Tampa, but much better than i could have done in Dade/Broward. If I could do it again, I would definitely go to Toyota of Melbourne they had the best deals on TRD ORs, but I wasn’t looking for tech or premium.
