I took the cash and a higher interest rate. Then dropped the interest rate 2 points for buying Gap insurance for like $900. I’m a firm believer in Gap insurance because it has saved a family member of mine. They were hit at a red light maybe 2 miles from the dealer in a brand new Honda Accord a few years ago. Their car was a total loss with less than 20 miles on it. The Gap insurance also included tire and wheel coverage for a certain amount of time etc

Yeah agreed on GAP. Also check with your insurance company, I was able to add GAP with them for like $80 per year.

Yeah, I went with getting the Gap through Toyota because it dropped my interest rate by 2 points and came with tire/wheel coverage for flats, wheel damage etc. I always pay stuff off extremely early though. ‍♂️

I’m a firm believer in putting enough money down not to need GAP insurance and use my Credit Union for lower interest rates. I always get pre qualified from my Credit Union. Here in CA you have 5 business days to seek a better loan rate and change the loan with no penalty.

I’ll pay it off by the time my Toyota Care runs out. Then financing through Toyota was at a higher rate than my bank, but I got 10yr/100k Powertrain warranty by financing with Toyota.

Nothing is free, you added $900 GAP and 10/100 warranty. You definitely were not given those just for financing.

Hi, I just bought a 2019 Off Road 4x4 Crew Cab with Long Bed. Came with the Tech Package and all weather mats and door protection. MSRP 39,388. Bought it for 34k plus TTL here in San Diego, CA. I thought it was a great deal. Financing it for 1.9% for 60 months was too good to pass up. Now I need find a new home for my 06 Prerunner :(

I wasn't offered the 1000 off, only the 750 with the 1.9%. I also had the 500 graduate for a grand total of 1,250 off. I used Costco and then haggled from there. IMHO the 1.9% is like free money so that's what got me to pull the trigger.

My point is this ......... The 10yr/100k I only got because I financed through Toyota. I didn’t care about the higher interest rate because I’ll pay the truck off in 2 years. I’m not the guy who will pay 60-72 months on anything.

You said you got it for financing through Toyota, which implies you got it free. I’m simply saying that you paid for it one way or another. Which is not what you made it sounds like.

0% 72 months, 2019 white TRD Pro. Stickered at 47k and change. I paid a little over 41k and was told it sat because of the snorkel, people are love/hate with that thing on there. I think it's a great conversation piece. Needless to say, love my new "Storm Trooper"

I found that true too. The trucks with a snorkel are sitting on lots for a long time as hard sells. I could have gotten about $1k less OTD had I bought a snorkel truck. lol
